Maybe, just mayne KC is right about burning bushes

Just like Moses, I saw a burning bush today...

All freaking fawking day to get a radius arm off. At least I won't have any trouble getting the old bush out of the arm

Whaddayamean, you're not supposed to burn them out in-situ?

I put a lift on a 1987 4-runner once. I think I burned out 75% of all the bushings on that truck.

I've been meaning to ask you, what happened? There for awhile, it seemed like you were copying me in my employment practices.

While I'm at it, whatever happened to your "project", oh yeah, the truck she was helping you build too

I made the mistake of burning out a polybush from a radius arm, sucker just melts and drips like a candle forever. Next one (they were out of the truck) I just stuck a 1/2" drill bit through it in 3 places and ripped it out in a few pieces with a pair of pliers. Much cleaner.

Um Kevin, my goal here was not to burn the polybush out! I was trying to burn the seized bolt out so I could remove the radius arm

Big cutoff wheel with no handguard. I am not even bothering trying to get those particualr bolts out, just dropping the front axle off the truck and using replacement arms, bushes, bolts and axle housing.

You sound like Pendy! I too am replacing everything. The other side came right out. I've gotten to the point where I quote these jobs at book time as most of them go so smoothly. Of course, this is my truck!

I would have used the sawzall, but I forgot to buy blades when I went into town

At least these bushings were easy to remove

I was channeling Pendy with the help of a shaman

One of my radius arms was bent anyway.

Management turned south at Robison's... he brought in a former Midas manager to oversee the shop so he can whore out his book. Drove a bunch of us out that way. From what I understand John was thinking of hiring you before he hired her... I couldnt tell you why he chose the latter.

From there I migrated to DAP in Vermont but it was too far away from home for me and I wasnt happy. So, a friend of mine that I used to work with at the dealership offered me work there, and now you see me as a official Land Rover sales "guide".

I like it thus far, its easy and theres good money in it. I tell people that its like being the management director at a country club. All you do all day is decide who you want to allow to play on your golf course.

My wife and I realized that my father and her parents are both getting older and we didn't want to have to go back and forth from Massachusetts everytime something needed to be handled.

I'm sorry I didn't take the job. I like to think that my management style does not chase folks away.

Congrats on the new job, sales guys probably have the greatest amount of freedom in dealerships as long as they can sell a truck.

Now, what happened to your project?

Someone call?

I see PT is wasting to much time here on the forums and not working on mortgage payments. And working on his own truck. Whats up with that? You only get to do that a couple days before you need it for an event-you know the hack rules.
Of course you are just a hack in training. Wonder if you will make it past probation this time?

No, just any old clapped-out Disco will do. It'll have the requisite bushings on it.

Project is chugging along slowly. With all the moving in recent months not much has gotten done, but its a rolling chassis with outriggers in the right spots. Now I need to find time to go claim the rest of my junk at DAP and make a trip to Maine to see Junkyarddog!

Dood! I sold a frame swap on a Classic! I've been spending time doing estimates that I've finally sold.

I've been working on selling a brake job on a '92 and they FINALLY pulled the trigger. The truck is here, I'm waiting on parts now.

With a lift, just like yours, I'm working much faster and have more time for jobs around the house for you-know-who!
