So, we were picking out a new bird and.....Splat!

My wife has been looking for a new bird to keep her other one company ( cockatiels). She's had one for about a year and it hates her so she want's another one.

Anyway, she emails a guy on craigslist (go figure) and he's got a few. We call him today so we can go see them and he says he will meet us at the mall. Huh? ok. He wants to transport a bunch of bird's 30 miles to meet us , thats fine.

So we go meet this guy and he's parked about 10' away from a street that's super busy ( you can see where this is going ). He tells us that he clips the wings himself because he is " king of bird's ". He's been doing this for years. At this point this guy is very proud of himself and it shows.

There was one little bird that was tryin to get to my wife through this small cage (with 8 bird's shoved in it). The guy reaches in, grabs this bird to hand it to mama and as soon as it clears the cage the wings are flappin' and it's haulin ass, get's just enough lift to clear the 5' chain link and glide into the slow lane.

My 15 yo is on it. One foot in the middle of dudes hood and he clears the fence just as the first car hit it. Then another ect... This guy says " dont worry about it . My dog's kill them all the time. Do you see another one you like?"

Needless to say my wife bought one out of pity. Now she's pissed off at me because I wouldn't pay for the one that got away. WTF was I gonna do with a flat bird?

Oh well, another Sunday at my house.

For some reason I see a guy with short cut off jean shorts scratchin' his ass with a white cut off old football jersey and a mullet sayin' "Don't worry, my dogs kill 'em all the time. Do you see another one you like?" As he's takin' a drag on a smoke with one hand and holding a Pabts blue ribbon in his other and yellin' at his kids in the yard for chasin' around the dogs with sticks.

Ok, maybe I'm just tired.

First of all, there's no way I am gonna pay for a flat ass bird. I didnt take ownership of it. It aint mine.

You've got his picture all wrong. Try this; 6 foot ish messycan. An easy 450 pounder with an Oakland A's t-shirt that I am guessin was a XXXL that looked like a half-shirt and let's not forget the cutoff ... something that had an elastic waist line.

This poor slob was huffin and a puffin just tryin to pry his ass out of a late 80's Toy,2wd std.cab longbed (looked for signs of butter on door jamb... none found

) He didnt move from the side of the truck the entire 15 min. we were there because he was out of breath.

Again, this was responding to an ad on craigslist. Should I have expected something different?

The wife and I have conflicting views on said bird. I say " it looks like it's either spun for about the 4th day or is about 3hrs in on a killer Acid trip." Mama says " boy, he sure is tame ."

Inbred?

Something tells me yes.
