So where in Nashville is....
Music Row? And some decent (not the Vanderbilt and Hermitage) hotels? I looked at the other Nashville threads (cuz we have an excellent search feature here
) but it was hard to tell exactly where to go.My boss will be there tonight, in about 5 hours. I need a hotel close to "neat" places for an out of towner and out of country-er to see. Where to go! Hurry!! I have to book a hotel! Thanks!!

Thats not the real Music Row. It is where all of the record companies are located along with the Hall of Fame. As long as I lived there, I cant remeber exactly where it is. I only went once, with an out of town relative.

You are correct, there aren't any bars on the "music row" that GAC is on

"Music Row" is boring - just a lot of record companies in old houses.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=gaylor...=1&sa=N&tab=wl This is the "GEC", and that area of broadway is the "walking" area where all the touristy stuff is, along with a few bars. Any hotel off Broadway in that area, or up near Vanderbilt off West End Ave. will be fine.

The Hall of Fame is now down behind the GEC off Broadway in this huge building that looks like a piano.

Any hotel off of 4th Ave. or Broadway would be ideal. The closest bars to music row are on Demonbreun St. What kind of bars are they looking for? I live in Nashville and go downtown often so if they need someone to show them around I would be more then happy to.

And to think that in 1987 one of my buddies tried to get me to go in with him to buy an old building in downtown Nashville for $210,000.00. Yeah, it was on a run down street called 2nd Ave. It had a few bars and that was about it.
I R dumb

Well...they got there. Not with any help from me though
![]() He left his GPS thingy at the office and he called me for directions. How dumb was that???![]() I didn't have a start point so it took me a minute to get directions. It would have helped if he had called BEFORE he actually got into the city. ![]() Then, I was TRYING to zoom in and it kept grabbing the directional path and changing the directions. He was getting all frustrated with me, and he said....*You are worse than my wife!! I will stop and ask a local, I'll call you back.*So, while he was doing that I got actual directions, printed them and then took the directional path off so that I could zoom in and out and move around and see the area...cuz sure enough, he called back and wanted to know if he could go a different way, where the exits were and where the one way streets were....he wears me out. THEN he called again and told me that his hotel wasn't close enough to anything (Union & 7th St.) and that he wanted me to cancel his room. So I asked where he was and he was driving down 7th and then going to Broadway...I said -*Just keep driving...my Magic 8 Ball says that all the good stuff is on Broadway and 2nd.* Then he finally said*Oh, look---here is a bunch of stuff...oh, okay, this is okay. we can go back and check in and then park and walk around.* I just want to get the hell out of here before he calls me for the 10th time today. My kids are less work than he is. He is lucky that I like him. or his ass would be in Virginia.
