Save Bear Beaver!

It has come to my attention that the Forest Service has gotten rid of Bear Beaver, 08N28 on the maps! BEAR BEAVER is NOT included on Alternative D!!!

Who in thier right mind would want to never see Bear beaver again?

Since we all love Bear Beaver, PLEASE make sure you comment in writing to the FS that we NEED Bear Beaver (08N28) in El Dorado National. make sure that you tell them you love The Bear Beaver, and that you travel down that route as often as possible. We also want to save Bear beaver for future generations. One day, I hope my 2 boys can experience Bear Beaver. It would be a shame to lose Bear Beaver. However, I do not mind if they get rid of "Wookie Bush"

Bear beaver has recently been adopted by the Kyburz Krawlerz, and we can assure you that we will take care of the Beaver and keep it clean.

Also, if you look at that part of the map, many of the routes designated 08NXX, that surround bear beaver will be lost to green-stickers.

SAVE BEAR BEAVER!

I think I went down on Bear Beaver once...that was an awesome ride. I think they are closing it because there is a lot of bush at the beginning of the trail, needs some maintenence if ya know what I mean

Just wait till I post the comment that I am gonna send in tonight.

The tree-huggers like the bush. The thicker the better. They HATE bear beaver.

Yeah, and it's a real tight trail. Real tough for some of us bigger guys.

If Jason was not convinced by his ride on the Rubicon, perhaps a ride on the Bear Beaver will seal the deal for us. Sadly, I'm not equipped to give him a ride on the Bear Beaver. Who will take one for the team?

Trip Report for Bear Beaver Trail..

A few weeks ago I hit Bear Beaver Trail, it was a great Run!
It has lots of little ruts covered with scrub brush.
In the center of the ruts is a deep wet gorge which is pretty gnarly.
I continued in & out of the gorge all afternoon.

Traveling north, I finally hit 07N03 Beaver Point.
Once I hit the Point, the ride got Really, Really, bumpy.

On the way out we headed south and found a really cool deep mud-pit called 08N25C S Beaver Spur.

well the whole thing is going to be closed in alternative D, and the reason is obvious.... it goes over personal private land and thats a big no no.

you never drive your rig down another mans Bear Beaver

Someone PM Glenn.......

Seriously though, that trail has some major drainage issues about once a month and is real NASTY to go down. Rick has done it before, I but just could just not handle it, some of it went up my nose and down my throat...

I am sure that the FS will realize that it should dry up in years to come.

Don't deny it Rick, you were a little hard on the Beaver last season. You told me you tore it up. (I hope the FS does not read this...)

Ok....does the Bear Beaver need some "trim" work. I for one would be willing to help. I can ask my wife, doubt she would help, but you never know. I just ask for the blessing to help!

Ya know, this is one of those roads that is definitly a "one at a time" road.
maybe thats why it is being closed
lets face it, I would not want to be the last guy in a group to drive this one, just wondnt be the same as the first one on it

and kurt I have pulled you out of every situation before...but you get stuck here, you are on your own

I have heard about this trail around the campfire. I sounds like the same one that many people have lost watch's, rings and denture's on. This sounds like this trail really bites back. Tread Lightly.
Also, bring a flashlight so you dont go down the wrong trail.

There is a "Friends Of The Rubicon" organization, and "Friends Of Fordyce".
The Bear Beaver deserves equal attention. Due to the high maintenance requirements of the Bear Beaver, it deserves it's own "Friends of" status.

We need to raise money to maintain the Bear Beaver. If Paul Newman can sell salad dressing to raise money for charity, why can't we sell booze?

We'll call our brand "Bear Beaver Liquors".
