90% scared, 10% excited or 10% scared, 90% excited???

Got some BIG new the other day, and I'm not sure what I'm feeling, except that I'm feeling a LOT of it.

I'M GONNA BE A DADDY!!!!!

And yes, we were expecting/hoping, but I think I'm still scared Heef-less about the idea of me having children....

What about the PBB, more scared or excited about your first?

Matt

I was more excited, and I've been more excited for the last 6yrs. It's only recently that I"m more scared than excited.

I'd be more scared of all the poop that comes out of these little guys. I have a 17 month old boy and a girl on her way in November. They're totally worth it & life changing. Congrats!

90% scared when you find out, 90% excited when it's time to go to the delivery room. It rightly should scare the heefus out of you, but you'll be fine.

Yup. Even after a certain 2.5 year old wails for 10 miles straight that she "Wants her ducky....her DUCKKKKYYYY!!!!!!!! " after it was forgotten at home this morning. Not that I would know about that or anythign.

Congrats man, it's an adventure to say the least

how about anxiety?

i was ready and waiting until the last week or so.... then i lost it, a little. then she got there and i just went into machine mode. made sure everybody had everything, constantly, neither the wife nor baby girl needed to lift a finger for the first 5 weeks, at least.

When we found out that were were gonna have a kid the first time around, I felt anxious(sp) for about an hour. I was younger and was unsure about our future. Then reality set in and I was the most excited person in the world. Although it was not without disbelief, I took the ept thing from my wife and pissed on it just to make sure it was working. I really do not know what the hell I thought that was gonna do, but I did it anyway. But on a serious note, once you have kids you will almost not able to imagine your life without them almost.

Congratulations!!!

Yeah, last year I was gonna sign a contract with Haliburton to go back to Iraq as a civilian, 6 figure salary, figured we would have the house paid off in 1.5 years. Got to Houston, 6 days later, went in and asked for a plane ticket home. My kids are just too big of a part of my life and I missed my daughters 3rd year of her life over there, I didn't want to do it to another one.

Congrats man, it won't really start sinking in till she starts showing. At least for me it didn't. Got a couple more months and then it will REALLY sink in.

We've got a boy on the way as well. Its our first and we just started our third tri-mester.

My biggest fear is not having time to finish my chit in the garage before the crumbsnatcher shows up. There are so many things to do around the house and garage in just a couple months and I'm about to go nuts!

That post was just as necessary as me telling you to go back to your fulfilling existence of jerking off to San Jose Sharks team photos and organizing pretend football games

CONGRATS, I was nervous, then excited, now a year and a half later I realized that fatherhood is probably the best thing that one can experience, I'm sure it could be the worst as well at times. We have our second due in March.
Enjoy it!

i was scared shitless too the first time. i had friends that had kids and they told me it'd be the best thing ever for me and that everything would work out.

sure enough, they were right. my kids are the best thing that ever happened to me.

Congrats!! At the risk of sounding like a woman, I didn't know what to think! Happy, then scared, then happy, then scared. I was a carefree man before kids.....now, those little f'ers make me worry all the time!

Life can't get better for me. I love my boys. Screw all the nay-sayers, kids are a blessing.
