How can you get rejected from nursing school? One of the most understaffed, and future severely understaffed jobs out there, and they reject you?

Is there something else going on? You're not a dumb guy, I would think that it would be cake for you to get into that program.

I have pretty bad ADD, and I've floundered pretty bad in college. Most likely they didn't like the amount of dropped courses I have. So I need to find a psychatrist (sp?) get back on the meds I've been off of for almost 15 years, (its so fucking odd that stimulants taken in moderate doses calm me), and take some community college prereq's. (an english course, Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2, Sociology, biology, redo my Trig etc...) If I do well enough in those I might try for a premed program, I'm just not sure I want to be 40 before I get back to work.

actually, coffee is often prescribed for "ADD" kids. and it works.

it's due to a low level of internal stimulation, so they stimulate themselves externally with noise, activity, and general mayhem. increase the level of internal stimulation and the needed external stimulation needs decreases.

My problem is I hate coffee, it taste like dirt to me.

so I substituted Sodas which while they do work to a degree, it's not enough. And I now have bad teeth because of it.

Actually my Sister got Diabetes when I was 8, since we were close in age and were playmates I got to learn everything she did.

I'm kinda in the same boat. My best friend/one of the guys that lives with me is diabetic, and I've asked him about a lot of stuff. The eeriest was when we were watching some show and the person went into diabetic shock. He told me exactly what to do and what all would happen if I did or didn't do it. Scary shit. I keep certain things in the house just to make sure his ass stays alive (if he dies, he doesn't have to pay rent

Bummer day when the neighbor kit that I've watched grow up for 15 years now , told me he had Diabetes , dumm ass me looked at him and said .Thats ok you'll get over it .

I didn't know any better .

I had my doubts about you, but you're an idiot.

In the past few years I've learned that diabetes is not something to ever mess with. My ex is at a high probability of becoming diabetic, and each time I talk to her I make sure she's still ok (she's somehow remained a good friend) and isn't diabetic. It's some scary stuff when it goes wrong.

My cousin had a diabetic seizure when i was about 13 or 14. He was 6, I was sleeping in the Bunk bed above him. I had this terrible nightmare that I was in a pitch black room and all I could hear was screaming and I couldn't get out. When I woke up the room was slightly less dark, but the screaming didn't go away. My cousins blood sugar level got so low that he couldn't move his body...all he could do was scream. I had no clue what was going on, my aunt and uncle ran in the room and took him into the living room and put that glucose stuff in between his lip and gums to get his blood sugar up. As all this was happening I still wasn't sure if I was awake or asleep. Scariest thing I've ever experienced to this day. more than 10 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Thats nothing. My sister used to get bloodsugars so high that insulin didn't work. She says that God once gave her a choice, to either come home or stay awhile, I'm glad she chose to stay awhile.

my mother sister was diabetic from birth, grew up giving herself injections twice a day, ( this was in the 50's with big fatass old school needles,)

When she was 13 she went into shock when noone else was there and died.

So we take diabetes very seriously in my house. (luckily noone else has been diagnosed in our family since then)
