What I want to see (comp organizers)
I want a leader board. I want guys standing with things like they have in golf, showing the points tallies and being updated by radio when people/leaders complete obstacles. ERoCC (for example) I know you guys already have plenty of people with radios, well how about giving a couple of them those score sticks like what they have in golf. Then maybe a large scoreboard type thing by the PA or information tent.
I mean it doesn't have to be high class. Like a whiteboard and marker would be fine. But it would allow the fans to see how close things can actually get, as well as giving the competitors more incentive to perform. They may not realize they are only 1 point out of the next highest position (Rusty ) or that a single cone separates two people running right after each other. Just a thought, any hope of seeing something like this (or does someone already do it?)?

I would like to see detailed results available after the event. We have our event statistics available where you can view detail down to the individual scoring sheets, get scores by obstacle, and damage by obstacle. Who else has that? |

At the Vernal UROC event a few weeks ago, BFG provided real-time scoring. The judges at each obstacle would call the scores into one or 2 people that were keeping track of everything on laptops. Quite honestly, it really wasn't all that helpful. Sure you might be in first or second place at any given time, but that might be because everybody has ran more obstacles than you. Or you might be in last place, but nobody has ran as many obstacles as you. The one thing that was somewhat helpful was being able to look at the main scorekeepers sheets and see how everybody else was doing on each obstacle. As far as a "current standing" though, it was pretty much useless. What would be really nice is the golf-type billboard you were mentioning Bigdude. That way it would be really easy to see who has done what obstacles and how they did. It would be quite a major production though with over 50 competitors. Or maybe if they at least posted an updated printout every 20 or 30 minutes or whatever. If you wanted to see the scores in Vernal, you had to either ask the announcer to look at the sheet, or look over the scorekeepers shoulder(which I could tell was fairly annoying to him). Oh well. That was the first time they did it, so I'm sure it will get better.

Maybe some waitress's to run water and food to the competitors. Recruits from Buckners maybe?

Quick edit...
The real-time scoring WAS helpul on like the last 2 obstacles, because by then you kinda knew who was in contention and who wasn't, and you could kinda get an idea of how you had to do on the remaining obstacles to be where you wanted to be on the scoreboard. |
