Red face leaning tower of xtracab

I have a 85 xtra cab that I currently am running pro comp-
springs F and Oregon Spring Company rear springs. And even after having the stiffer springs in the rear installed, my truck still wants to have a slite lean to the right( Dam fuel tank) it will really lean when im full of fuel, Plus the fronts flexy, the rear stiff.
Any one else have this problem?
Any recommendations for differnt springs to change to, and ditch
the crap im running now?
I want lots of flex and still be albe to run 35's one day soon
and to sit level for a change.
Im only on 32"s for now and look like a leaning drunk and its very

I think you need a big cup of STFU!
Get the biggest lift blocks you can find and stuff them under your leafs, add a 3" body lift and get a nice new set of the cheapest 35's you can get, used preferably. Call it good. Enjoy the awe you get from people as you cruise to the mall w/your sig. other. don't forget the bumper sticker!!! Your almost there don't give up now.

Schniz, there's no need to be a dick. The guy asked a serious question and asked for advice, not to get razzed by your dumb ass.

Squirrelpwr, I don't have an answer for you. I just felt the need to to tell Schnizboy to STFU.

First thing to get used to is that soft sprung, flexy, leaf spring, rigs almost never sit level.

I am wondering if it is overcompensation for the uneven spring perches. Do you have a block under your spring pack on the drivers side or is the spring supposed to make the truck level? If there is a block make it smaller. IF there isnt a block maybe remove a leaf from the tall side.

SquirrelPwr -
35's? Fender trim
The rears are stiff? Take out the load leaf?
More flex? 3/4 eliptical rear?/ longer shackles?
I'm realy not a dick, I'm an ass-hole

There are so many things that you could do. It sounds like you just want a replacement rear spring idea~ Chevys/Pro Comp/wagoneer springs/Rancho's/Skyjackers/etc

I've used the Rancho's for a while- theyre ok.
Ive used grand cherokee leafs w/stock toy 3/4 single spring top/
I took 3 bottom leafs out of the cherokee and still stiff. whish I could help guess not.

Pro comp springs are different for the R and L (they are even marked so) The problem is, they are arched differently (diffrent spring rates) to compensate for the low spring perch on one side, and they settle at different rates. ditch 'em and put on some waggy's!

My truck sits higher on the drivers side with the same spring, ome 99a, on both sides and no block on the driver side. I'd say dont worry bout it.

waggys are nt the same as wrangler springs. waggies(rancho part num. 44044) are a lift spring for a waggoneer. lots of people run these. very flexy...so i hear. i run all pros. they both will get the job done. if you look at the "toy FAQ" thread there is a shit load of info on all this stuff. happy wheelin'

Are we talking about front or rear here? People are responding about lift blocks on one side and not the other. Maybe for the front! I'm pretty sure he's not talking front here.

For the rear, first, try to swap the spring packs side to side. Easy enough to do and sometimes you get a set that don't have the same strength.

Then, remember that flexy springs WILL droop. Most people with Allpro kits or the 44044 swap never know which way their truck is going to be leaning when they stop and get out.

Third, forget about it. If it's less than a couple of inches, it's not hurting anything and it's only bugging YOU. Get over it.

Finally, if you get a bunch of weight on the FRONT of the truck, (think meaty bumper and a nice HS9500i winch) I bet you won't notice the leaning NEARLY as much.

Save your money for something more important than making your truck sit perfectly level. It ain't gonna happen.

Oh, and Wecome Newbie~~~

I'd love to get some like yours they sound peachy keen If your going to come on here as a newbie and bash another newbie with a semi legit question you should at least have your facts straight.

SquirrePwr,
I ran procomps back in the day and they flexed alright but my runner ended up leaning to the right too. The shop I got them from warrenteed the right one out and the second spring lasted until I sold the truck. However like others are telling you do some searching and read the FAQs there are many good options out there that are cheaper and perform better then the off the shelf made for Toyota stuff. For what it's worth I run stock 7 leaf Wagonner pack up front in my truck and I'm pleased with them.
Good luck
Travis

i ran procomp 4 inch lift wrangler rears on the front of my old toy, I was very happy with them, the limiting factor was the shocks, I ran the longest ones rancho made but never got around to moving the upper mount. They would still go to just a little neg arch and drop on the other side pretty well. I was very happy with them. Also they bolt right on, all you need to do is shave down the bushings a tad so they fit inside the toy hangers. I have no experience with the waggies so i dont know if they bolt on or not.

Josh

BTW- trucks lean, its just the way it is

your very informative reply has been noted. I think this is the same type of logic you used to draw your conclusion.

Place banana in your ear.
Observe that there is no alligators around.
Conclude bananas placed in ears keep aligators away.

I realized he was talking about the rear. I was trying to make the point that leaf springs don't always settle how you think they will. On the toyota front axle the passenger side perch is higher on the axle than the drivers side. Some people will weld in a block on the drivers side to level it out with the same spring on both sides. Since I have the same spring on both sides mine should lean to the left in the front, but it don't. It leans the other way damnit.
