Please pardon my ignorance, can rear springs be bent because of the extreme angle for the rear shackles? I hope to have SO somedays, in the learning mode now. Thanks.

when there is some weight on it the shackles will flatten out to a much nicer angle.

The shackle will invert and could bend the spring if it sat like that ready to to go

yep, you're right and my dad and i talked about the same thing....we are going to wait till all the weight is on the frame and see where we're at. if it still sucks, then we will move the hanger foreward

I can't really tell in the pics, but did you do a shackle reversal at the same time

I sees it now

So are you gonna do the S/R while it's all apart? No spring over is complete without it

I'M NOT DOING THE SR, I DONT LIKE THE IDEA OG THE PINION ROTATING DOWN, AND NEEDING A CUSTOM LONG SLIP. ALSO, I LIKE THE THOUGHT SOME HAVE OF FORCEING THE TIRE INTO THE ROCK, RATHER THAN LETTING IT MOVE AWAY LIKE IT WANTS TO. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE I'LL DO IT A FEW YEARS DOWN THE ROAD, PROBOLY NOT.

heres the scoop:

the front shackles should be good once the motor is in...i did not do a shackle reversal because of lack of funds for a new driveshaft.

the rear shackle hangers are going to end up getting moved foreward anyways...so dont worry about that

and lastly, the cut and turn....we did not do it because of lack of time (a year already) and i want to get my cruiser home! (dad wont let the good one come home till this one is done!) I figure we will cut and turn in the future--but the front is so far away from the tcase that it really isnt a concern for me--plus we dont see many rocks--mostly mud

any more comments/concerns (oh and yes there is a ubolt missing on the front drivers side im working on that

You know, it's not necessary to strip one down quite this far to do a SO, don't you?

Looking good!!!!
