72 bronco build up

Over the summer I got the chance to work with Tim Haight of Bronco Alley, and my heart got set on building a early bronco. I finally got some pics of it and figured I'd share. Still not completed but that is to be expected when you can't work on it full time due to school. The specs of the build are in my sig.

first pic of what I started out with...

Not bad, should have flipped them shackles. Trim the ass end of those wheel wells or the tires will eat em. I'm sure that will come in time.

and that's all I got at the moment. I'd say it's about 50% complete, but seeing as I can only work on it every other weekend or so I have no iq when it will be done. I know it aint the best out there, but for a college boy I'm gonna be mighty happy .

I know just what you mean with having little time to work on it cause of school and all. I just got mine to the point that I can drive it on the road, so I'm drivin it around and all of the sudden it dies, I walk to the gas station, get gas, put gas it, it still doesn't start. Turns out it was the ignition switch, ordered one from autozone, they ordered the wrong one..ordered another..still waiting...paid for the second one with quarters and dimes Too many other stories like that to type...if its not one thing its another. Just don't let it get to you

I think your rig as a lot of potential on the trail, get it finished and lets drag Tim out to do some wheeling.
Later, Francois (Veteran Bronco Alley Biotch).

I like the rear stretched, but what about the gas tank? Are you going to move it...go fuel cell? Isn't clearance an issue?

got down and worked on the truck this weekend and man was I when I got there. the shop where my truck is located was right on the edge of the freaky storm in los angeles last week, so they got like 10" of rain. well, my truck was left outside and someone forgot that my engine needed to be covered so....I had to drain about 2" of water outta my oil pan . The good part is we got all the water out, hooked up the distrubtor, and the engine fired. Got the car under a tarp now and got all the holes leading to the block covered in plastic. other than that no progress .

yes, clearence was a problem. planning on ordering a 20 gal cell from summit. In other projects Tim (the guy who owns the shop where my truck is) just builds custom tanks that work with the issue. But, with my lack of funds and the fact that I could give two shiets whether I have a back seat or not, fuel cell seems like the best option.

Not that I can afford it either, but what would the custom tank cost?

And...It appears the springs will still be stock length...but I can't really tell. Did you change them or consider using a longer spring to reduce the need for the arch?

I really couldn't tell you how much the tanks would cost. I just knew that I wasn't planning on having a back seat, so the fuel cell was the easiest way to go. if you are serious about getting a quote on one, pm me and I'll get you a number to call.

and about the rear springs. new ones were considered, but then the $$$ was thought of and hell, they'll work till I can link it .

Looks similar to my build up...

Here's where the front was last week. I have since relocated the upper frame mounts to go through the frame/cross member bracket and made the upper axle side link mounts lower for better up travel.

had these pics for a while, just never updated. it really sucks to have no transportation and be 3+ hours away from your project. nothing new in the past ~2 months other than these little things.

finished hood...well at least finished being cut, re glassed, and primered
