I'm going to be doing a 4" shackle flip on the rear of my truck, is there any extended shackles to give a 6" lift? Also doing 4" springs in the front, same question.

Yes you can use 6" shackle but remember you will put more angle on the pinion.

What does tha mean? I'm going for articulation. And could I run these shackles up front?

That means if you put shackle flip plus longer shackles in the back your rear end yoke will change angle and will be looking up more.

If you use longer shackles in the front you will get the opposite effect, your axle yoke angle will move down.

I have an 8" lift on my truck right now, I'm justworried about going down to a 4" lift and loosing all my ground clearance. That's the reason for possibly going 6". What do you think? How would 4" inch do?

Can't tell, post some pictures of your setup.

I'm trying to turn the truck into a reliable and agile trail rig. Any advice, so far the set up I'm planning is
4" tuff country ez ride front spring
4" reverse shackle with 63" springs in the rear
bilstein 5100 or 5125, haven't decided yet
zero rate springs front and rear
35/15/15 super swampers on eaton beadlockers

zero rates are not springs.

use 52s in the front.

dont lengthen the front shackles for height, tard.

installing 63s will require movement of the spring hangers on BOTH ends... are you ready for that?

all that work to run a 35?

Why?
you can get plenty of flex in the rear with the stock stuff if you do some minor adjustments to them... remove the overloads. take off all but the one bolt on clamp. move the shock mounts and get longer shocks.

those dont cost you nearly as much as you would think.

dont forget longer brake lines. you'll need em when you start to "flex".

watch the frame, because without a cage, the frame will start destroying itself slowly, starting at the steering box, then at each crossmember as it twists out of shape repeatedly.

People will tell you to do a lot of things. my advice:
long, flat thin springs. as many as you need to hold the truck up off the tires, but no more.
a 30* shackle angle front and rear.
52 inch springs in the front.
cut the fenders to fit the tires.

to build a spring pack, use the two longest top leaves, then start pulling leaves out to get it to flex, generally every other leaf including the overload leaf, for the rear.

for the front, 52s remove the overloads, install a zero rate to move the axle forward. build a crossmember to tie the front framerails together. crossover steering. limiting straps to keep the drive line from falling apart at full droop.

edit:
Axle wrap is a problem on soft springs. build a traction bar.

52" with a zero rate + 2" shackleflip with 6" shackle[its the exact same ride hieght as a regular flip but with more flex]

you will be more than fexible and capable, barring you are 4x4ing a crewcab.

dont piss money away on the spanky bilstiens. get regular rancho/procomp cheapies for a 10-12" lift and get some ford shock towers.

also get some VERY long brake lines.

I'm not doing 52's up front, way too much work. I'm not into doing a lot of fab work, the shackle flip is way more than what I wanted to do, but I have a shop doing that and my cage. I'm not going to be doing any crazy ass trails, and I'm on a budget. I have heard really good things about bilsteins.

youre on a budget, and youre lazy?

and you wanna buy bilstiens?

something here doesnt compute.

when was the last time you went to the proctometrist? *(you know, the doctor that pulls your head out of your ass, or performs a procedure known as a "rectal pupilloptomy", where the doc goes in through the rectum to wipe the feces from the back of the eyes after it has ruptured the optic nerve.... happens when you have shit for brains..

Sorry, OP, but...

I cant imagine not wanting to do more. I definitely understand being on a budget. The info is here and, chances are, wherever you are buying your shackle flip kit from. Do yourself = more money to waste on hi dollar parts that you don't really need.

I've pretty much made up my mind on the front, for the rear
4" shackle flip with zero rate and 63's or 2 1/2" skackle flip with 6" shackles and zero rate on 63's
would they give me the same lift? Which one would flex more?

The red text just doesn't make sense?Maybe in retard land?
How does a 2 1/2" shackle flip come with a 6 inch shackle?
Is 4 the same as 6?
To answer the last question you would need to post WUT you "made your mind up with" in the front.
I think you should leave the front stock more of a racey look with 6" of lift in the rear

I'm here because of the Knowledgable people. I just have heard that you have to do cross over steering with 52's up front and I know nothing about leaf springs and I don't want to pay someone to do all that nor do I know how to. I just want to know the best set up I should do for a 5" inch lift in the rear.
