I think I'll try something different, springs wise

I noticed the toy rears on 90-95 are a couple of inches longer than the 79-89
springs. I'm gonna try these on my 84 and see what happens, planned on using my original rears up front anyways. And before all the "get chebby" people chime in, I'm bobbing the frame and going flat bed/bobbed bed soon so I need to keep them short... I don't know if a couple of inches will make a big difference, I could always swap them for something different later I suppose. They are roughly the same size as Mazda springs, no? I will prolly mix in an extra leaf or two out of another pack.

Good idea or bad?

I run em. 92 P/U rears with Jeep CJ rear springs up front. I didn't swap because they flex more than the spring back there now... they don't really. I did it because the stock springs were S shaped on both sides.

Be advised: Leaving the front hanger where it is and moving the shackle hanger back to accomodate the spring will stretch your wheelbase some. About 1.5-2 inches. I wanted this, though. 2" in front and 2" in back gives me a 107" wheelbase. Pretty much perfect, IMO.

Yeah.... I looked at the Mazda's, theres only a half inch difference in the later you springs and those. Cherokees look good too, but wre only talking an inch difference either way I go. Ford's looked promising but they seem a like they would just run the gammit on the axle wrap.

I also considered the extra wheel base

go get some aerostar coils and then you can really bob the poop out of it. also, if you use a leaf spring with an offset pin and put the shotr side to the back make sure you build a traction bar
