Denied access to our (My) forest
I was just wondering if the forest service or any one else has done an environmental impact study on the effects of closing spur roads and causing people to be more confined. Also I was wondering where the ACLU is on this subject. It would seem to me that the public has established em nit domain over these roads by the fact that they have been used unrestricted for so many years. A prime example is the connector from Elis Creek to McCrinsty Lake, this has been unrestricted for over 50 years. Also these roads are being closed with regards to the right of access to handy caped people. Also people like my self who are no longer able to carry a back pack through the mountains. Now those areas that I could drive to are being denied to me with out warning or consultation. The Sierra Club was successful in keeping trails open to the beach through private and public land back in the sixty's, Where are they now to help with the rights of those who helped with beach access? It would seem hypocritical to not jump in and help with the publics right to use what is theres, like off road access to camping at places like Buck Island.
It seams to me several law suits are in order, by individuals, groups and organizations. |

Banthis , are you sugesting that the spur roads remain closed? It only seams to me that the roads be left open in the same condition that they are now , unmaintained .
