Mystery ratchet
I picked up this socket set 15 or so years ago used and just recently I lost a couple of the sockets and I went hunting around Google a bit to see if I could find the company that made that as they have been more than durable and have taken all the hard use I could throw at them. My search turned up zip...zero...nothing! All of the tools in the set have JS engraved in them (not someones initials) along with a # that probably indicates what part it it and USA The ratchet has the following:
JS 13000 USA on it. Anyone ever heard of this brand of tools? Here is a pic of the ratchet.

I have a ratchet that looks just like it. Can't remember for sure where I got it but it was a low cost tool from a parts shop or something similar

My dad has one that looks just like it too. It is part of a set in a blue metal case with some common sockets in 3/8 and 1/4" drive with an adapter and an extension. I will ask him what brand it is.

Steelman maybe? I think that they manufacture and import / export tools for OEM's.

Looks just like one that I use now. It is my grandpa's and he's had it forever. Not sure of the name though.

The ratchet is 1/2 inch drive and the head of the ratchet looks to be rebuildable. I was kinda hoping it was a snap-on one off or belonged to one of the other major tool makers. It has good weight and does not feel like junk tools feel when you use them.

Had one like that, but lost it.
For Trivia.... Picutred are a snap on rachet, and a unknown extension. My Grandfather bought the extension. Maybe 1920??? Dad bought the Snap On around 1938 (he was working as a mechanic). I still use both tools! On the "Snap On" the lettering is almost worn off.... Tom

Looks just like the one that came free with my Gator Grip one Christmas!
Lasted about 25 minutes, then the innards ceased to be contained inside the ratchet.
