One link?

Well, I have retired my truck and am now in the design phase of my new rig.

I have been running a simple one link with panhard setup with my airbags.
I have liked the setup so far, it is reliable, and I love the full skid plate under my drivelines.

There hasn't been much on it here, so I just want to know what you guys think about it.

Flame on

I think he's talking about this style;

Search for "grader ball", "trailer ball", "wishbone", you should find some threads.

Mine is are radius arm bushings and they seem to be holding up well.

Looks like that thing would have some massive AS? Have any more pics of yours ZAG?

Also, you might want to try searching for "trailer hitch" or "trailer ball" suspensions.

How is this only one link? I can count a least three link hookups on Zag's rear axle, not including the panhard. I know there is only one link at the frame also, so .... The way you orriginally explained this, it sounded like there was only one link at the axle, which I dont even see that kind of vehicle being able to move.....

The only drawback I see is all of your rotational forces applied by the axle to the arm(s) (pinion moving upward or downward) is placed in to one bolt.... Better be a bad ass bolt. It also looks like it would be way out of controll and not stable.. (looks like it)

I had a similer set up on a suspension i was testing out on my zuke buggy, it kida all broke up due to not using heavy enough material, ( i was slamming it hard) but it worked great. I love the full skid setup on the drive line... I was using a large JJ on the front of the triangle...

I had even contemplated a simple rear steer using some hydrolics on/as the track bar, it didnt take much track arm length change to give noticeable steering input...

good luck, build it strong...

Why don't i get it?

how does this thing locate the axle well enought too keep the axle inline with the body, with that front pivot?

seems like it would walk , like a leaf spring with a busted centerpin.

I love the protection factor, but i just dont get it.

only way it would walk is if it could move side to side- can't with a panhard.

thought about using this suspension, but mine will remain a daily driver, at least for a while and it is just too iffy for me, would definitely like to see more people using it to get more input on it for future reference.

Thats what I am thinking.
4 link seems to be the tried tested and true link system so maybe I will do that.
