Finished my quick disconnect welder/jumper cables

Well since I ditched the OBA and went CO2 I had a spot to mount my OBW instead of a stake pocket set-up... So I mounted the welder and then set it up so I don't even have to open the hood to use it.. The field switch and handle throttle are both in cab and the cables are-set up using quick disconnect fork lift cables.. I also set-it up so that I can use one set of cables for both jumper and welder cables.. The neg clamp always stays neg and the positive side has a quick disconnect tweeco set-up so all I need to do is put the red clamp on or the stinger...

close up of tweeco ends for positive side of cable... You can use either the clamp or the stinger... This lets you to use one set of cables for both jobs

That's funny, I take beer with me and a welder, the welder is for me, and I give the beer to onlookers.

OBJC?

On Board Jumper Cables? I'm not saying it's a bad idea (it's actually pretty cool) but do you use them enough to have thought of that?

I use the welder more than anything, and I've always carried jumpers and used them every now and then esecially with my stereo ( just added a yellow top ), anyway, my whole point was to make two sets of cables out of one, add the quick disconnects and make it easier to get the welder going on the trail

You can get these through any battery supply outlet or forklift parts supplier... I got them for FREE through a guy I bumped into at my local welding shop The TWeeco ends on the positve cable are available through any welding supply

www.delcity.net sells them as well in many different sizes. I happen to have a few of them for when I can wire my batteries in 12V and make them 24V when I need to weld by unpluging the green ones and switching to the red ones.

Pretty simple

GM alt bumped up to 165 AMPS with a 1" pulley for low REVS..

I paid 100.00 for the whole set-up completely rebuilt through an alternator shop In Auburn, ca a couple years ago..
