What's the deal on those link and engine mount bushings? They don't look like poly inserts. And the center of the OD is eccentrically relieved? Is the relief just for weight savings? Does the bushing have a soft coupler inside or bearing?
Sometimes the small details fire me up.

I cannot tell you how many small weight saving measures are on this rig. That is a good catch Doug. Everything that can be machined down and maintain its integrity is done.

The designer is a mechanical engineer and a ton of thought has gone into this rig.

Here is a picture of the link ends. I run similar ends without the weight shavings. They use XJ lower buchings and twist 360*

I'm ok with the engine selection. Is it from a firehawk or camaro?

I'm in, send that sucka my way. Oh, wait, this isn't a red star thing is it?

Love the gun drilled parts. But has your engineer figured out that more weight could be saved by the addition of fluting the straight round parts? It's still just as strong, but with a little more weight saving. Could pull you down a couple more pounds over the whole buggy. IIRC, 7 pounds reduced equals 1 horse power freed up.

then i'm guessing custom portals or some planetary design, that ring gear looks like a freeway ratio to my uneducated eye

I would have guessed at some 609s but the tubes are cut pretty narrow for that.
I'm a little surprised at the use of course threads for the 360* link ends. Maybe it's another weight issue.
I also like the use of gun-drilled parts but thinking of the procedure gives me nightmares. I worked with an old Eldorado gun-driller for 10 years and always hated it. The drill's point is offset 50% of radius and hi-nickle alloys make the drill scream.

It looks quite the opposite to mine, really thick.
EDIT - Maybe the spool is throwing me off.
