Who used a Ford gas tank in the toyota?

Fit right between the frame rails where the spare goes?
What tank is it?

I can get a picture of the side of it tomorrow if you like.

From my calculations it was about 15 gallons or so.

The one I used in my last rig was out of a 78' Ford 1ton, it was the secondary tank. I believe it was out of a camper special if I recall correctly.

Too big for me.
Iam looking for something about 12 gal. In the size of 30"x17" and not too deep.

What fuel pump are you using with the 4.3L?

It's not all that big ... doesn't hang much lower that the frame and filler neck is between frame and bed....I'm running the stock in tank ford fuel pump with a carburated 4.3

Hey Vova. I finally got my truck running and the Ford E-250 tank works great. Erik B. helped me wire the Ford fuel pump and sending unit to the stock Toyota wiring. The gauge reads backwards (Empty to Full) but otherwise it works fine. I had a local metal shop in Reno bend me a custom skidplate that goes from the tubular rear crossmember to a boxed crossmember I added at the back of the frame. It only hangs down about three inches below the frame. Then I added a custom fuel filler to the stock location using some muffler tubing. It doesn't slope down very much but I haven't had any problem at the pump when I fill it. I am out of town for work right now but I will try and get you some more photos and details when I get home.

I plan on putting one of these in my rig... but I've been saying that for a while now. My rig works so I just keep wheeling it as-is.

My stock self-clearanced 17 gallon tank only holds about 10-11 gallons now before starts sucking air. I need to quit slacking.

So how do you wire it? Is there a way to get the gauge to work properly?

I am hoping that it is as easy to get the gauge to work properly as just switching the wires from the sending unit, but I have not got around to it yet. Truck is in Reno, home is now Albuquerque, and I am in San Antonio!

I decided to go with a fuel cell. Should be here the end of the week. It's 30x17x7. Should fit nicely in the spare tire area
