GA86yota's buildup

I deleted the old thread cause i wasnt getting anything done.

august 10th--- took my front drivers hub off (still IFS) to figure out why my wheel was wobbling when i went around a left turn (only did it on left turns)...bad bearings...lots of metal in the grease etc etc...and im doing this for my senior project (early )..

So i got the balls up to start cutting my truck up...

plans: to get it driving again soon

custom trusses bottom and top (2.5x2.5x.25'' square tubing) (going to cut top off and redo) $$free
5.29s open for now...E-locker about to go in $IDK bought a deal F&R & Master kits $450
rears/ pro comp mixed pack $50
TG u-bolt flip kit $50
box moved 2'' forward $free

Trail-gear hanger $150
TG shackles
Trail-Gear high steer $340
IFS calipers $free
TG 26'' lines $69
82' LC rotors $50
Trail-gear longtravel driveshaft kit

Rear :

Yukon full spool $142
52.5'' ford f150 springs $40
homeade shackles (3/8 steel plate made to copy TG shackle) $frree
homeade hangers $free
Trail-gear longtravel driveshaft kit

Tires / Wheels :
35x12.5x15 mickey thompson baja claw radial $150
15x8 chevy rallye painted black $free

New AISIN slave cyl..$30

Pulling motor, redoing some wiring and maybe rebuild it..replace water pump, alternator, starter, and battery...a few gaskets..reseal oil pan

front / rear bumpers

all in all i def. should have purchased the SAS kit instead of putting it together myself, but shit happens

in that case, i feel youre pain. I havnt been on the trail in nearly 4 years due to collecting parts slowly. I rolled mine shortly after getting it so now its no-op on the highway... so, its a farm truck till i finish collecting parts. No sense in doing things twice, ya know

you know the engine is a lot lighter if you take the intake heads and accessories off, you probably could get the block out with two guys by hand, your rebuilding it anyway, might as well make it easy on yourself.

Cool project, I built my nissan for my senior project. I would adivse you to buy all of your parts now, nothing sucks more than missing dead lines with school because of a back-order. Plus, you will not get as carried away with it. I had a budget of $4,500 for my nissan and I ended up trying alot of new things and spending $14k before I knew it.

are you just measuring from eye to eye? or are you measuring eye to eye along the spring? you can get a piece of string and run it along to get an accurate length, then measure the length of the string
