Pluging ABS sensor hole in late model diffs

Later V6 3rd members have a hole on top of the diff for the anti-lock brake sensor. When installing this diff in an older truck you don't have a sensor to put in the hole. Some have suggested making a block off plate. Another solution is to use a 3/4", deep cup expansion plug (freeze plug). Napa stocks them, part number 219-3038. Cheap and easy to get. Easy to install: just slide a socket into the cap and tap a few times with a hammer.

98 runner axle

I have a 98 4runner axle, and there are 2 sensors one on each side by the drums. Anyone have an Idea if the sensors I am speaking of are the same as the one on the diff top? THanks RYan

I don't know the answer to your question but you might want to post this in the correct forum.

The truck, and said axle is at the shop miles away. Wasn't making it there for a couple days, but would like to bring the parts when I go.

To plug the ABS sensors on the housing ends by the drums:

"Toyota 42186-35010 (X2) ABS Port Covers"
