F-Toy #88

Well, I mailed off my deposit for Formula Toy #88 so I thought that I should introduce myself.

First let me say thank you to 1sicbronconut for humoring my very strange request for Chassis #88 It's just some personal juju that makes me want that number (it's the year I graduated high school). I was all set to call and place my order that would have made me #88 when we were evacuated for the fire. Now all is well and I'm ready to get started.

I considered using my current 4Runner trail rig as the base for my F-Toy, but there were a few things that I would have done differently so I have decided to sell it and buy this one as my F-Toy drivetrain instead because it has more of the stuff that I want in a comp rig.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=630896

Here's my current 4runner posted for sale. I built it pretty much myself with the welding help of my friend and partner in the F-Toy project JedRattle (Shaun) Thanks dude!
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=632403

My build will be comp legal and I hope to enter as many as I can get to. I probably won't make the whole 08 WeRock season, but I'm going to try to get it together for the last one or two events. I'm working on a rendition now, but I intend to use the old school Toyota racing yellow/orange/red stripes paint scheme somehow. Kinda like the Tinbender giveaway truck from a couple years ago. I just have to scale it to fit on the F-Toy side panels and hood.

Finally a thank you to my wife for putting up with me being in this hobby. I'm sure she'll search this up under my username and be in here checking up on me shortly!

Donald

Right on....I saw your runner 4 sale on my forum and was wondering what was going on. Now I know. Feel free to call me if you have any questions about building it. Glad to see another being built.

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks Matt,

I'm planning on using most of the accessories and parts that are available from vendors including your side panels and roof to try to save time (and because I'm not really a master fabricator).

And in case you forgot, I'm the guy that Dunbar sprayed with rocks at TDS 06. I never get tired of telling you that story!

Donald, mine's F-Toy #90.
It's going on my CJ8 frame with a D60 front and 14b rear, so it definitely won't be comp legal.
Once I get the chassis I'll start a build up thread here.

I see you're in Riverside, I'm down in Murrieta. Maybe I can stop or you can stop by and shoot the breeze about our builds.

That'd be great. I'd love to check out your rig in person. I like what you did with the front half/engine compartment frame attachments. I'm all about copying good ideas!

Don't be cluttering up my thread with your BS. I've got $20 that says my F-Toy is done before you have an operational kegerator.

BTW, Donald, I don't know what you plan on doing for springs, but I have a pair of 63" Chevies, that I was going to use, but have since decided against it (thanks Chris ) If you want them, they are yours to keep.

They're too long for the F-Toy. I used to have them on my 4runner but took them off.

The avatar is totally messing with me. I keep thinking, wait a minute, I didn't make that post!
