Dude I have been waiting for this episode for a while. So yeah what do you guys do with these rigs. I heared that some showes actually crush them, because of liability. I hope you guys don't do that....

Hey Ian, how come you guys don't have a Pics link on your website. So we can look at the rigs from different points of views and possibily get some ideas. Could be "Pics of Builds" Link.

The vehicles are basically "company cars", we keep them in the warehouse and if they need some good wheelin then I am more than willing to do that.

The web dudes are working on some "vehicle" pages for the website.

Thanks I'll Tivo it for sure. I can tell the sponsors are pressuring you to give you their builds and time in the show. Thats okay just make sure it flows into the shows rather than puts the brakes on it.

I hate to say this, but there was never a 1999 VW 1.6 idi. 1996 they started with TDI's in passat's, and late 1997 they were all TDI. What they have in the show is a 1.6 IDI which means it was pre 1994.

Now if they want some real performance out of that little diesel, there is lots to be done.

I was wondering about that, I thought the 97 and up were 1.9 L or bigger.

93' and up in Canada had 1.9IDI, these weren't available in the USA, but in '96 the TDI was released in the passat and in 97 to the rest of the line up.

"Toyota Motor Co. was established as an independent and separate company in 1937. Although the founding family's name is Toyoda, the company name was changed in order to signify the separation of the founders' work life from home life, to simplify the pronunciation, and to give the company a happy beginning. Toyota is considered luckier than Toyoda in Japan, where eight is regarded as a lucky number, and eight is the number of strokes it takes to write Toyota in katakana. In Chinese, the company and its vehicles are still referred to by the equivalent characters (traditional Chinese simplified Chinese pinyin fēng tián), with Chinese reading."

That Is what I was thinking too that if it was a 99 it would have been a 1.9 it sure in the hell looked like a 1.6 I drive every day.
That clutch shot didn't look right eather still looked like a fun build

It's most definetly a 1.6... if you watch on the motor mount install shot, it's cast in the block. I'm sure you can pick up a 99 jetta with a 1.6 turbo somewhere in the world, so it's probably just a case of it's not available here in the U.S.A. You can get just about any motor you want if you order it from the right supplier.
