The Georgia Rock Rods Rock Crawling Club and the Wounded Warrior Project, is having a Wheelin’ 4 Warriors Rock Ride which will be held at Morris Mountain ORV Park in Heflin, Alabama on Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 23 through Monday, May 26th. During the weekend, several activities have been planned, such as rock crawling competitions, raffles, an auction and various other fundraisers, all with the focus of raising awareness and donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. We also plan on having magazine coverage, prizes, and trophies.

Over 30,000 troops have been wounded in recent conflicts, many of them suffering traumatic brain injuries, amputations, and severe burns. The Wounded Warrior Project provides programs and services that ease the burdens of the wounded and their families, aid in the recovery process, and smooth the transition back to civilian life.

The Georgia Rock Rods are committed to the Wounded Warrior Project and the young men and women who benefit from the WWP’s programs and services. These service men and women give life and limb to protect our freedom, and the Georgia Rock Rods recognizes and appreciates their sacrifices.

Georgia Rock Rods is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving our community. 100% of all proceeds will be donated directly to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Please visit the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org to find out more about this extraordinary organization and the outstanding contributions and difference it has made in the lives of the young men and women who continue to protect our freedom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osU21L74Gq0

WHEELIN 4 WARRIORS ROCK RIDE, MAY 24TH - 26TH

The Georgia Rock Rods would like to welcome you to come out and show your support to our veterans on Memorial Day weekend this year at Morris Mountain ORV park in Heflin, Alabama. We will be hosting the "Wheelin 4 Warriors Rock Ride" to help raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. 100% of all proceeds raised by the Georgia Rock Rods will be donated directly to the WWP. Which also means that it is 100% tax deductible for all sponsors and participants.

FRIDAY MAY 23

REGISTRATION $55.00/ TRAIL RIG

We will be kicking things off on friday with registration and sign up for the Rock Race Competition. We'll also be selling raffle tickets and make sure to bring some extra cash because we have some great prizes that will be raffled and auctioned off. Stuff that you'll be kicking yourself in the butt over not winning. All money raised for these items will be tax deductible. "When was the last time you were able to buy parts for your crawler and write it off on your taxes?" We will also be selling event t-shirts and they are about the coolest looking ride t-shirt ever. They are camo and will be sporting the WWP logo on the back and an awesome GRR event logo on the front left pocket, so everybody is going to need to get as many as you want before they sell out.

SATURDAY MAY 24

Saturday morning we will have a drivers meeting and decide on an entry fee for the competition or not. If the comp. drivers would like more than a very nice 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy in all three classes, we thought maybe everybody might want to throw down 10 bucks or something and have a winner takes 50% of all money raised in that class and 2nd place get 30%, with 3rd taking the remaining 20%. It would make it a little more interesting and that way we wouldn't be pulling any money away from our charity. If no one wants to pay to compete we are fine with that as well and the trophies we are having made are very nice, not some cheap'o plastic jeep stuck to a block of wood. Just wait till you see them, you'd be proud to have the braggin rights to these.

Mud Flappin BBQ will be serving up some really great food for lunch and supper on Saturday and possibly Sunday as well, so concessions will be sold for those that don't care to bring peanut butter and jelly and little debbies.

We will try to start up the 35 and under class around 1:00 p.m. Then have all the drivers for the 38 and under set up by 2:00 and depending on how many folks sign up for the comp., we'll have the unlimited class run last directly afterwards. The obstacles we have chosen have plenty of spectator parking and plenty of room to get around. We will also have staff members directing traffic to avoid any and all possible log jams for the full three days of wheelin. We want all of our participants to enjoy their weekend. Celebrating Memorial Day with us will be as action packed as you want it to be.

We will have a drivers only raffle for all participants paying the 55$/trail rig with some very nice prizes and a second raffle with many other big items for all folks to get in on at $1.00 per raffle ticket.

SUNDAY MAY 25

The auction to follow on Sunday for all the more vehicle-specific items and maybe some other big items. The awards ceremony will also be on Sunday evening as well.

MONDAY MAY 26 "MEMORIAL DAY"

Monday will be an open trail ride for all and we would like to ask for your help in a clean up ride for all those that may have left or lost items out on the trail. We will have staff personal out and about on the trails all weekend long to help remind those that aren't as courteous. Please remember that Randy and Kris' park is open for us to enjoy so let us have them enjoy having us. If you pack it in, you should pack it out and if you can cross the bridge going in, you'd best cross it going out, or you will be asked to leave.

The Georgia Rock Rods would like to thank all of those who have helped sponsor this event and shown their support and we look forward to an awesome weekend of wheelin and fun.
