Transcontinental Flatfender Tour
Check out these WILLYS Drivers adventure
http://willystrip.wordpress.com/ Back in December of 2007, we (Paul and Evan) came up with the hairbrained idea of trying to do 2 complete frame-off restoration/builds on two 1948 Willys CJ-2A Jeeps with the intent of driving them from coast to coast on July 15th of 2008–just over 6 months later. Not really knowing how much work was really going to be involved, we started tearing them apart. Well, just over 6 months later we’ve almost got them completed after many a long night of turning wrenches, and we’re readying to embark on the coast to coast trip. This website documents the restorations of both these Jeeps, and the day-by-day account of the trip–beginning on July 15. |

I'm not too far from Springfield,CO( US 160/385 intersection), maybe I can run up there when ya'll come through. If you need any help or whatever, I know several people and places along 160 through southern colorado from Durango to Kansas area. My dad may still be in the South Fork area when you go through there, if you need any help. Laramie 806-420-9091

you're gonna have a helluva time on that leg over the Sierras - really windy and steep. But, If you have to go that way, it'd be worth it to veer north just to see Lake Tahoe.
apart from that, I'll put you guys up for the night in the new (very nice) hotel here on base if you want. You'll be going right past the base, probably within 3 miles. It's located in Vacaville CA, 60 miles from San Fran. More than welcome.
