FabStock 2008 Project Warrior. <Blue Torch>
![]() DATE OF EVENT: DECEMBER 5, 6, and 7, 2008 Let me start by saying that we could not do this without all the help and support that people here on the boards offer. Thank you so much for allowing myself and the rest of the crew here at BTF a chance to do what we love for a living. I had a message PM'ed to me the yesterday morning letting me know about a thread in chit chat. It was dealing with a Army Res. Vet and his Jeep. I will save most of the story for you all to read in the news article. In a nut shell seems some a$$ hats decided it would be cool to trash this guys Jeep simply because he is in the military. They painted on the hood of the Jeep "soldiers are murderers". The Dallas PD say this horrific crime is not a hate crime because military guys and gals can not be considered part of a hate crime. That is BS. The person cut all 5 tires. Smashed up the windshield, cut up the seats, destroyed the interior completely, and more. See the news article for more details. Anyway, Blue Torch FabWorks, Inc has contacted Viktor, the owner of the Jeep, and let him know that BTF will take the project on. We are going to do it in a similar fashion as FabStock 2007 when we rebuilt the apeters Jeep. This time we are going to make it a 3 day event covering a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The actual dates of the event are TBA as we still have some details to button up. There are many people out there offering to come help and support this project and they should all be thanked as well. There is an unpresidented out pour of support through offers or money and product to this soldier. I believe there has been a PayPal account set up for him. Maybe someone will post that up for me. Here at BTF we plan to help our Viktor by making repairs to the Jeep.... and then some (wink wink). Hopefully through BTF product, and other sponsored product we can make this come together. We will be making a list of product needed and people needed. We will open the shop up for people to come watch the build. We will also be planning for some other fun. I was thinking about looking for a band to play Saturday Night. Might make for some good times. I contacted Tony at GrayRock about using for people who want to go wheeling while in town. he has a weekend that we would be able to use the place. That weekend is December 5, 6, and 7th. My question is how many people would like to go wheeling while in town? The park is going to be open that weekend anyway for their "Toys for Tots" event. You will have to bring a toy to enter. Post up and let me know what you think about the dates and if going wheeling is important to you. We are limited on the weekends that we can put this on based on media coverage and other events going on around that time. Here is a short list of what I am looking at doing to the Jeep while here: 1. Tube Fenders to replace the damaged fenders 2. new windshield 3. New Hood 4. New Seats front and rear (PRP Suspension Seats commited to the event) 5. new interior parts (console, and other items needed) 6. New Wheels 7. New Tires (Interco Tires commited to the event) 8. Long Arm Suspension Kit (Rubicon Express commited to the Event) 9. BTF Bumpers 10. BTF Rocker Guards 11. BTF Diff Covers 12. Possibly do a Front half cage (The Fab School commited to coming out) 13. and a few other things I think may be very interesting.. (EVIL SMILE) 14. Electrical Switches (12 Voly Guy commited to the event) 15. BTF Winch Plate 16. Warn 12.0 Endurance Winch (Warn Industries commited to the event) 17. True Flow Fliters intake / filter system (True Flow commited to the event) 18. PSC Hydro Assist Steering Kit. (Tom at PSC Motorsports commited to the event) 19. QA1 Rod Ends (QA1 commited to the event) 20. LongView Driveshaft (Longview commited for the event) 21. Currie Enterprises AntiRock Swaybar (Currie commited to the event) I will put together an actual list of items needed very soon. I will also put together a list of people needed to help around the shop for the event. I think it would be kind of cool to work that as a lottery system since we had so many people wanting to help out last time. I will post up the details of that very soon. I will be looking for a band to play here at the shop for Saturday night. I think it would be VERY cool to have a band play Kid Rocks song "Warrior" which is about American Solidiers. You can download the song for free on the National Guard website if you want. I have been rockin it on my iPod for a few weeks now. We are going to be looking at different ways to provide some food. Aaron Peters father said he would drive back down and cook chilli for the event. That was a HUGE hit last go around. I will get more info on that and post. Ian from Xtreme 4x4 TV told me he is down for helping out and doing a little highlight on the show from this event. Ian thanks for your help to bring a positive light to this horrible deed. I look forward to having you here in the shop. We are also working with a number of national media sources to cover the event. That is one of the reasons we are looking so hard at getting a date that will work. We want to bring national attention to the matter at hand. It is not OK to mess with our American Soldiers. We stand behind our men and women in the armed forces. I would also like to get the military involved. Even if it is simply a local reserve unit lending a hand. It would be cool to see some recruiters here at the shop. I am sure we will have some young men and women here that may be interested in signing. If anyone can help me with putting this together please send me a PM. I want to give a HUGE thank you to all of the service men and women around the world. The service you give your country allows the USA to be a great place to live and work. Through your service we all enjoy freedoms that many in other countries do not. You all are the ones headed into harms way and willing to pay the ultimate price of freedom. You are "Warriors" and willing to put your life on the line for the rest of us. Thank you..... Now lets start planning FabStock 2008 and have a some good times. I know last time I met tons of great people. I even made some new friends out of the last event. More importantly it was great to put faces to screen names and voices on the other end of my phone. I am so looking forward to doing this. The university where this went down is working with Viktor. They are going to have the Jeep shipped here to BTF very soon. Once I have the Jeep here I will be able to take a better look at it and determine exactly what is needed.
Dan

Well, the reason I didn't bring one last time was A) I didn't want to take away from what was being done to your pal's jeep, B) most people here would laugh at a dead stock military jeep while pointing at things that they would cut off even though it's already got super lighweight components, low COG, quarter elliptical springs front and rear, etc., C) I wasn't sure about Dan's parking situation and if there would be room for another jeep on a trailer, and D) gas to pull something was going to increase the cost of the trip over simply driving there and helping.

Dan it was a once in a life time event in 07 that was above and beyond what any normal shop would have done and y'all pulled it off without a hitch. The fact that your stepping up again for part 2 speaks volumes man.
