Homebrew twin stick, 100% recycled materials
Well, I was rebuilding a transfer case and forgot to install the interlock pin, so I decided to just whip up a twin stick using whatever I could find around the shop. Here's the materials list:
-Shifter arms, some kind of 1/2" stock from a retail display -Shifter prongs that go into the case, stock front leaf spring shackles, the bent ones -Bolt and sleve, from the rear overlaod off a 1984 spring pack -2x3" square, just laying around. I still have to weld the 2x3 to the stock base plate for the original shifter, but I ran out of weld wire, so that'll happen tonight. I'm going to use rubber for the cover, and it will probably be recycled too. ![]() ![]()

That looks really good. I also did not put the shifter pin in and tried to make one after about 4 hours of wasted time I just got a used TG one from Dave. How long did it take?

now you need to have shift knobs that are just as cool and recycled. or else all credibility is ruined

Golf balls are on the list for creative knobs. |

good deal, those are rather thin. Galvanized one? or a mild steel one?

cool
![]() good job for not letting people 'get you down' about how the metal needs to be hardened and stuff. the way people beat the crap out of their rigs, they sure seem to complain when you try to build something a little cheaper than the norm. |
