Thumbs up The Ruffstuff 9" Axle Housing!

This is it! The Ford 9" Axle Housing. This axle housing is a touch different than you are used to seeing from housing fabricators, this housing is not quite round! To put it simply, if it was round it would be weaker. The housing has 14 different facets to the basic diamond shape resulting from 36 individual bends! The end result is an axle housing that is the smallest shape possible and strongest shape too, AND there are no abrupt edges to hang up on passing rocks.

We make the Ford 9" Axle Housings to have 1/8" clearance of the ring gear because Ford made all ratio R&P's exactly 9" in diamerer. 3.08 ratios are 9" & 7.20's are still 9". Another beneficial thing to keep in mind when deciding on which axles you want to use is the NASCAR influence. NASCAR has been driving down the price of 9" axle parts for 50 years!

They are available in 1 length (68") and you can cut them if you need shorter. They will come in 1 tube diameter and thickness but you can try and convince me that 3 1/2" x 3/8" wall DOM isn't strong enough. The Body of the housing is 1/4" A50 plate and the faceplate is 3/8 for better stud retention. They are internally reinforced with 6 seperate reinforcements that all tie together to make it way strong. You will also have the option of front or rear and left or right drop. We stock these so you won't have to wait either!

And they aren't that heavy either!

Most of our welders don't dress this way but when Loren wanted to wear the leather apron how could I say no?

Actually, for a hot 19 year old model I think she really liked the housing

These are $480 picked up or $550 delivered in the lower 48. I think we can hold this price for a few months if steel dosen't do what it did last summer....We are just finishing up the truss options and I will add them later. The Toyota 8" is having a minor change done and then it will also be done! We will also make these for the Super 14 as Portal Tek makes them available.....

By the way....

We are making great progress on the FF hubs and spindles. They should be ready in 2-3 weeks. The Spindles are 4140 both HT & Cryo'ed and large enough for 40 spline axles, you can still run any spline count you want but why make them for less? The hubs and drive slugs are also nearly done and use the strongest bearing we could find but somehow it isn't really very expensive....This combo should take a big chunk off what the big guys are charging and I would run them head to head with theirs any day of the week!

That's what I like to hear! Can't wait for my play-money account to fill back up, it's a little low at the moment

If you want to stick with the birfields you would have to add the balls. We are looking for a company that can make them for a reasonable price.

But we could deliver them to a couple of great local axle builders for free to complete them. I use Trevor or Beau at WFO Concepts or Sean at River City Differential....We are about 10 miles from either in the new location....

Definitely subscribed, I need a new housing and something to stick my 35 spline strange housing into! Will the full float option be available for 5 on 5.5?

The housing looks great Dan! I remember talking to you on the phone about this about 2 years ago. I'm gonna drop a link to this on our local board.

Will the full floater version have the snouts already on or will it be up to the builder? Will shipping be cheaper if I buy a front and rear at the same time? Approx cost on floater hubs?

Depending on the length you wanted we could add them for you for a reasonable fee (Not robbery). It would likely be much cheaper to ship without them.

We are shooting for $650-800 for the Hubs, Spindles, & Bearing combos and they are 47 spline capable! However, they won't be ready for a few weeks.

Those maybe too hard to find to make money selling axles for them but Dan can answer that better than me.
