We're here at 4wheel Parts in Colorado Springs for the XRRA finals Tech Inspection. Competitors are already here and most are thrashing on their rigs. We talked to the teams a bit as they were working away...

Ben Swain is here and ready to race! Ben seems a bit concerned about his leaf sprung suspension and the big jumps that the Weavers typically set up at Colorado Springs. He said that his previous attempts at big air have been a little destructive so he plans to take it easy on the jumps. Ben's rig is built on a 90's Tacoma Chassis and runs a Tundra V8.

Will Carter is just finishing up his rear axle re-build after a very destructive run at Raush Creek last weekend that broke a weld on the end of his rear axle tube leading to major destruction. Will wants to say a big thanks to Chase at East Coast Gear Supply for helping him get the rig back together on such short notice. Also, check out Will's sweet new Raceline Wheels!

Ken Blume was telling me that he now has three years and about 60 races on his rig but it is still going strong. His front axle housing is bent but he expects it to hold together for one more race. Ken doesn't have any KOH plans this year but may build a car that is a little more dual purpose in the future and take a shot at it.

Derek West is providing the safety demonstrations today. He is installing a new power steering reservoir that Branik Motorsports built for him and doing some last minute touch up spray painting and wheel windex polishing.

Bring the heat tomorrow Nate!

I spoke with Rosco a short while ago. He said the entire Branik crew made it to the Springs safe and sound. They drove NON-STOP from Fort Wayne, IN and slept outside the gates to the RAM Off Road Park last night.

... talk about roughin'-it!

Talked to the Lovell Bros for a minute. Their cars are super clean and sounding mean! They are excited about the track tomorrow and looking forward to running a fast course. Their plans to manufacture their chassis design are ramping up and things have been going great so far with their new venture. They plan to be near full speed with their initial product line by the end of the year.

Just got off the phone with Adam Carter and he was leaving the park. He said the course is long and looks FAST with some wicked jumps!! Some interesting match ups tomorrow from what he said.
