Timberwolf 2 - The Rebuild for Racing
ALL PICTURES TO DATE LOCATED HERE ---> PICTURES !!!!!!!!
Well, after getting a taste of the rock racing this year, and alot of talk, and thought. I tried to sell The Timberwolf for something 2 seats and faster. I had some offers, but with the economy, nobody willing to step up to the plate. It had alot of nice parts, so i decided to just ditch the chassis, and build a new one and use all my parts. In the search for someone to do the rework, I talked to alot of people about this. Timmay from Liquid Iron Industries was one name that kept coming up. http://www.liquidironindustries.com/ I really liked the tube work he did on the ZJ buggy for RCROCS seen here -->ZJ Buggy Build He just moved into a new shop, got setup with some sweet new tools from Baileigh seen here -->New Stuff from Baileigh A new bigass table from Torchmate. So after talking with him about all of this and his ideas for the new buggy, i decided to let him have at it. Dropped the Timberwolf off to him the last Friday in September. The original plan was to use everything from the 4 seater on the 2 seater. But I decided the Rockwells probably weren't the Ideal choice for the racing since it would make chassis design much harder while trying to keep the truck low enough. So, we ditched them, in exchange, some beefy 1 tons. Dana 70 Front, Reid C's and Knuckles, Detroit. 11.5" 14 Bolt FF Rear, Stock Disc brakes, and the new ARB. Trying to use almost everything else. Once Tim got the Old Timberwolf torn down, he started measuring and doing some Bendtech Magic. Drivetrain laid out on the sweet Jig table. Then he started work on the Subframe. This will all get boxed in.

Setting the wheelbase, (motor will be moved back a good bit from this location)
So, this friday, they started bending some tube. This will much closer to the location of the motor now. This is where we left off, on saturday wee hours. More will resume on Monday. I'm really excited about the whole build. and I cant wait to see what Tim has in store for me in the next few weeks. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

The chassis will be for sale, along with all the parts I didnt reuse, and should live again, hopefully. I wont ever cut it up. way too much hard work to just cut up.

![]() I wish I could work out the final bugs in my Torchmate. The stuff i've been cutting up until I started working on AJ's subframe have been pretty inaccurate. It looks like I might have it running pretty good now, and I have some prototype parts cut for the gen 3 traction bars. I'll do my best to get that taken care of this week. Sorry for the delay, but the end product will be worth it. Oops, i'm starting to sound like Portal Tek. ![]() We got a little bit more done this afternoon. A good bit of staring deemed it "necessary" to put 6 more tubes in. I did get a final plan laid out and it will definitely be different from the bend tech designs in this thread. I'll post updates as they come, tomorrow should be some good progress.

Hopefully we can incorporate this Aveo grill somehow...
![]() ![]() ![]() Mid bar is in place. There's a lot I want to change up front, and the back bar depends on how I like the C pillar angle. After we grab some food we're going to knock out the A to C bars and really get an idea of what the chassis is going to look like. ![]() ![]() I don't like the front bar forward of the shock. We're going to nix that and do something very simple yet elegant. ![]() Huge thanks to Baileigh for making me look good. ![]() ![]() ![]() Creepin on the Tracker. ![]() More to come this evening...

Needs more triangulation...and pics of Dom flexing his muscles.
![]() I still can't believe you guys are powdercoating the chassis Vagina Pink, but to each their own, I guess. BTW, those tires and wheels look awful familiar.

FWI I have tried the zip tie shock mount method, it leaves much to be desired. I would at least double them up, might work a bit better...
.... not that it really matters AJ will just hit a tree and roll it right away

OCD shop cleaning much? I think Dom would sweep the shop for 2 hours after every day if I let him.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Turning out real nice. I'm very happy with it so far. Hopefully A.J. thinks the same.
