Talking The legend, walker evans, to drive zero car at mxrra rock racing rally in real mexico

THE LEGEND AND OFFROAD HALL OF FAMER, WALKER EVANS, has confirmed his presence in Guanajuato, at the annual MXRRA® ROCK RACING RALLY. The LEGEND will be arriving at the international airport of Guanajuato BJX, where he’ll be providing an alternative attraction and mixing with the other drivers and fans. WALKER will be our main guest star and will be driving the zero car at the rally.

This rock racing rally will get off to a colorful start in the city of Guanajuato, to the sound of mariachis, and folk music that set many a foot tapping, together with many other expressions of Mexican culture. Guanajuato, a World Heritage town, will once again get ready to throw another bongo bash to welcome about 40-50 teams who will be fighting for first place, when the race is on.

HISTORICAL AND COLONIAL GUANAJUATO - PRONOUNCED WHANN-WHAT-TOE
The city of Guanajuato is the place where Mexico took its independance from Spain.
Voted the most colonial city in the world by UNESCO for the past 4 years.
Home to WRC MEXICO and MXRRA and Cervantino Festival

The main ceremonial start for this edition will once again take place in front of both the Jardin De Union in the heart of downtown guanajuato, where more than 35,000 people gather to give rally participants a typically warm Mexican welcome, and to wish them good luck in the race.

SHAKEDOWN, PRESENTATION AND PARADE THRU THE JARDIN DE UNION

The icing on the cake will be Walker´s appearance to surprise the crowd, getting the Mexican feeling started.

During the Shakedown in colonial downtown, local kids and fans will have the chance to meet and take pictures with WALKER, also offering the other special guests the experience of riding shotgun with the LEGEND!

JARDIN UNION AREA

After the Shakedown and Presentation, Walker and the other teams will parade thru downtown where 45,000 fans cheer them back to RALLY CAMPUS located at the host hotel GRAN PLAZA. From here the teams, staff and fans will all be bused to a welcome party at the GALERIA BAR. http://galeriagto.com/pagina1.html

PRESENTATION FOTO

We can also confirm that the LEGEND will be present at the Start Ceremony, but this time aboard the “0” car. So, given his charisma and the special empathy he has with the Mexican fans, it’ll be quite a show.

This time the start line for the rally will be at the Presa de la Olla located 10 minutes down from the offroad park PLANET GTOROCKS, where more than a good 20,000 people gather every sunday. Continuing up to the park to run 2 more rally stages. We expect also an increase in fans up in the park to jump this year to at least 15,000 fans. After the teams finish the 3 rally stages they will all head back to RALLY CAMPUS for the awards ceremony and afterparty!

With this confirmation, WALKER EVANS joins the contingent of world personalities at the annual MXRRA ROCK RACING RALLY 2009, and, although he won't be competing, he will have praised us all with his presence.

GRACIAS SR. WALKER EVANS for helping us promote this rock motorsport in MEXICO and LATIN AMERICA! GTO IS YOUR HOME.

MXRRA® WELCOMES TEAMS FROM MEXICO, USA. COSTA RICA, VENEZUELA, AND ENGLAND!

I went to Guanajuato last year, and had an AWESOME time. I want to go this year, but I'm not sure if my schedule is going to allow it. If not this year, for sure next year. Mexico rocks!!!

Guanajuato is the name of a state in Mexico and that state's capital city.

Guanajuato is a state in the central highlands of Mexico. It shares its name with its capital city, Guanajuato, Guanajuato. Guanajuato means "place of frogs" in the local indigenous language. The local Tarascan Indians believed that the frog represented the god of wisdom. A rock formation outside of Guanajuato, looks like frogs. ' Las Ranas " is the way to reference anyone from this state as frogs are their state animal.
