Thanks Stephen for this chance to run with the "big dogs". Can't tell you how excited I am. In fact without you, my wife Jen, the shop crew, and friends I would not be able to have a chance to provide a ride for Stephen or get to drive a bit myself.

I know going into this that we are HUGE underdogs. We will try our best to stay out of the way. I am using this race to test the waters and see if I should build an Ultra4 type ride for the future.

I will post up some pictures in the AM from the shop computer. We ARE going to run the body panels, and are fully aware that they will be gone after the race. BDS suspension stepped up big time and provided us with resources that make it possible for some lucky race fan to get a quarter panel to hang in there garage.

When I was 16 I worked for Sal Fish setting up the start finish line and direction markers at the Parker 400. After the race we would run the course and do clean up. I picked up a few different bedsides/fenders and hung them in the garage and my bedroom. That inspired me for years.
We have been busy getting the truck to be ready for this. Between following the rules, adding bypasses to the rear, and beefing up the weak spots we sacrifice sleep, family, and friends for this.
Looking forward to meeting new people seeing some I know, and scaring the crap out of myself.

That is bad a$$, I love K5's. I grew up four wheeling in a K5, sure wish I had it now. Cannot wait to see it in action out there.

I thought very briefly about bringing Wally but we can barely get miniwally (4488) together so it was never a serious thought. I had a equally brief thought about a leaf sprung K5, like score legal stuff, but that thought evaporated quickly also.
The last trailride I was on in a full body truck I about took the front fender/hood corner off with a tree, must have been imagining the taper job already instead of paying attention. we'll see how things fare with the 'glass.
I know it'll go good in the open and Kevin and I have both driven the big ones in the rocks a couple times so I know we'll get through OK.

1983 K5 Halfcab blazer. Converted it to a 73 full convertible windshield frame a few years back. Used to be my daily driver.
WillysWanter helped me figure out the suspension bits about a year before he passed (RIP buddy)and my friends and I built the tube work around it. We recently did the 2009 ultimate adventure with it and had a blast. Now its gunning for KOH.
Here are the specs
Pac Fab LS2 RTR engine package
Shift Management TH 400 full Manual VB
Klune Goliath to round pattern 205 twin sticked 32 spline throughout.
Trussed Dana 60 ARB 14 bolt detroit locker
18" Fox coilovers, Tripple bypass rear and Hydro bumps up front
3 link front 4 link rear
42 Goodyear rubber and raceline hoops
2005 Chevy truck front clip (fiberglass)

The best thing about this truck is the time spent with good friends working on it. Time spent out wheeling with good friends, and all the new friends I meet because of it.

Pics in the AM
