That rig kicks major ass! But more importantly, what are in the diffs, what gears? I'd like to see a shot of the steering linkage in the engine bay. I bet it was tight! How close is the oilpan to the front diff? More pics please........

that is the ultimate of cool. the only thing i have concern over is the weight and vibration of the motor. for a TRAIL ONLY rig, i would rather have an 8cyl diesel for the smoothness. but in an expedition/daily driver/tow rig like what i plan to build in the far off future based off one of these-

i would rather have the 6cyl, and i will, with a TF727 and rover LT230 transfer case.

thats a 89 to 91 non intercooled moter from a dodge. i have thought real serious about doing this and i have a 5.9 cummins at my disposal. but the noise turned me off for a trail rig. hell i have to shut my truck down to talk to anybody in a parking lot. the torque would be awsome, the fuel miliage would be great. but trying to listen to your spotter or talking to some one on the trail would suck. i bet with the pump bumped up that cruiser will haul ass. looks good, hell i would love to have it for a daily driver/ light trail rig. it would be a blast. mike

have you changed your fuel pin location to get max fueling and played with your smoke screw? and bump the timing up about 3/32 above the factory line. and get a 16cm. housing on it and it will get a boost a bit quicker. and i dont think egt's will be a problem with the weight you will be running. mike

Just looking at the drivetrain, did you scavenge it from a W350?
You know you're gonna start another trend here What's your wheelbase? How bout some more engine bay shots?

No, there is NOTHING new about putting a Cumm-apart in a 4X4.
There are several of them running around Sacramento, and one of the buggy manufacturers offered a 4BT as an option.
I am just curious about front axle/driveshaft clearence.
Both of the rigs I have seen in town here had issues due to the large oil pan and the top to bottom dimensions of the block.

I woould not worry too much about innercoolers, aftercoolers, CACs, pyrometers, blah, blah, blah......
This engine will never create full power in a light weight rig.
If it ever does, watch your frame twist into a pretzel.
A lot of early Cummins Dodges came back to the dealership with a front tire in the air because the frame was so heavily twisted.

it does fine, i have no complaints.
i took off the air cleaner and put an k&N filter in
place of it. that helped out alot with the response
and i can hear the turbo alot better now.....sounds sweet!!
this spring i'm going to put 3" exhaust on it and see if that
will help it out anymore.

Adam, cheap???

Oh, wait, you drive a Rover
5-6 grand for a new one, 3-4 to totally rebuild if you have a core.

the SD33T stock, is about 100 hp. Inadiquate for a 5000 lbs Scout. How light is your rig?

Anyone interested in SD33/T hopups visit here:
http://atlas.binderbulletin.org/foru...p?s=&forumid=5

Yeah, its a Scout site, so what. They've got the market cornered on Nissan hop-up parts.

i have seen used motors sell for as little as $500 in running condition, im not too worried about price in that regard.

i would want to tweak it up to about 150hp, my truck is at about 100 right now and its too slow.

my rover is about 3300lbs.
