NYCEGUY01,
Your rig looks sick. Are those the 29" KM2's or the 30"? I am looking to go to 30" tires on my rzr4. I am trying to decide on whether to go with atv tires or LT tires. I like the idea of LT tires due to the shorter lug, but I haven't decided exactly which type/size I want. I am only planning for trails and rock crawling. Mud is of no concern to me, and only ran in when there is no option. Let me know what you think of your tires, and what recommendations you would make. Also, overall, do you guys that have gone to bigger tires feel like it was worth it? I want to run 30" tires in order to clear bigger ledges, better rock crawling clearance, run trails with my truck buddies, etc. I am just trying to figure out if 2" more ground clearance over the stock 26" tires is actually going to pay off enough to make it worth it. Any info is appreciated. |

They are just over 28". They are 215's..
I had 30's but they were hell on the clutching. Just didnt work well except for low range crawling etc... I like to run fast trails and dezert type stuff mostly. I hate mud. The KM2's work great on hard pack as well as loose gravel etc... This is the best combo I have tried so far.

Little different than what you guys are all running, but here's the Gator I just brought home today. I wanted it more for work on the farm than for trail riding, but so far it seems to do pretty well. I rode every trail on my place no problem, heading out this weekend to a friends for some more testing.
I need to modify it some, the air intakes are way too low on these things. Engine intake under passenger seat, belt intake next to the side of the drivers seat. Not planning on swimming with it, but I don't want to suck water in either.

FoMoCoOffRoad,
Basically, this is a "more info" request haha. It appears that you spliced into the b-pillar, redirected it across the back of the machine, and built the rest of the cage custom from there? Is that correct? It looks slick! As far as suspension/tires, are you running any forward or rearward a-arms? It seems like the front tires have lots of clearance. Are those 29.5 terminators? How do you like them? They look good. And of course, the rear winch. Did you build a plate to the rear chassis, or was this a kit found and purchased somewhere? I hadn't seen that setup before, and it looks really clean. Any and all information is appreciated. |

Legal? Technically no. Likely to get a ticket? Probably remote...but if Highway Patrol knew or wanted to whip out a tape measure, you'd be done. If you have any bumpers....you're WAY done.
