Rugged Radios RRP600 Intercom & Vertex Race Radio Install

Hey guys - Matt @ Rugged here. Had a Rhino come into the shop last night for a last minute install of our RRP600 Intercom & Vertex VX2200 Race Radio into an 08 700EFI Rhino SE. Has Custom Motorsports LT kit with Kings, PRP seats, custom cage, Dynatek ECU, DMC dual exhaust & power programmer.









First step was to lay out brackets and wiring into the glovebox. This area was chosen to keep the products out of the elements.





We then pulled the seats, center console and center tunnel out to route wiring for the headsets as well as the antenna cable. The antenna was mounted to a specially welded tab on top of the rear of the rollcage.

Fused power wires were run from the back of the units through a grommet to the battery box as well as a master switch in the drivers area for controlling the intercom and radio. Please exuse the mess of the customers other wires for things hes done.... :wtf:



Push To Talk switches were mounted on the steering wheel for driver and on a grab handle for the passenger. We used our PTT-VM2 weatherproof sealed PTTs for the ultimate in durability.





We then added or 1 3/4" Headset hangers to the rear of the cage.



Took the rhino for a spin and got up to 55mph.... no hint of wind noise on the intercom or radioing back to techs at the shop. Was great listening to the iPod during the down time of not talking to my driver or back to the shop. Everything worked out seamless.

I bought this package from Rugged at the Sand Sports Super Show, but haven't had a chance to install it in my Teryx yet. I'll take some pictures when I do.

Have you put a radio and intercom in the glove box of a Teryx?

We havent had any Teryxs into the shop yet, but I dont see any reasons why it wouldnt work as long as the space is availible!

the Glove Box of the Teryx is not Flat like the Rhinos. (as I bought this exact set-tup as well at the SSSS for my Teryx) I have my stuff temp installed for now, but hoping to Have everything Permanantly routed this weekend. and will post pictures. Used the set up last two weekends and LOVED it.
