UTV race June 20th in Dayton, TN

UTV class added.

Im here in Dayton prepping to start setting up the event site for the rock race this weekend. I have tested the new race track and it's very doable for UTV's. Until yesterday I had been suspecting a few rock ledges to be uncovered that would be near impossible, but instead they are just dirt climbs.

The UTV's will run first Saturday morning. The race track is side by side so 2 courses forward, 2 courses backwards for the UTV's. Everyone else runs them all forwards only. The UTV's will only run 4 courses total, while all others run 6.

For more info call 314-974-5337.

Sounds awesome. But can you exlain more about the type of racing the sxs will be doing? I checked out the website and the racing looks pretty wild lol. Im not sure how a sxs would hold up judging by the pictures. Im very interested, but I cant really enter my sxs in some kind of tough truck comp. lol, since I race in another series. So will this be like a rock race only or have a little cross country mixed in as well. Lots of the pics dont even look passable with a sxs.

lol your right, those pics are of the rock racing section where werock and merock hold their events. There is no chance a stock UTV could make it.

but

The new race track has been build to the upper left hand side of the rock. It is 99% dirt. A couple very small hill climbs. 2 table tops, 1 man made single, 3 natural singles, 2 doubles and one triple. Quite a few turns right and left. 100% visibility for spectators. It's 2 laps per lane, 2 lanes and each lap is about a half mile stretched. UTV's will run these courses forwards and backwards. No hot laps. There will be a small rock garden added to each lane. 1 lane is completed and is stock rzr friendly. If my low rider makes it, yours will too.

I'll get pictures for the fast track once it is mowed tomarrow or tuesday.

UTV requirements:
3/4 face helmets for all riding occupants, bicycle helmets for spotter(s). Up to 3 persons to a team (driver, co-driver, spotter) co-driver can also spot.
Neck braces for all riding occupants.
stock 3-point belts are ok. Harnesses better.
must have door nets or doors.

This sounds fun. I think I am going to try to make it. I didn't see how much it cost to enter on the website, but I might have missed it. Would you think I would have trouble finding somebody there to spot for me? Also are they ever any vendors there selling neck braces? Sorry for the million questions, just don't want to drive up there forgetting something.

I have several vendors (beer, food, soda, etc) and usually a few shops or part vendors, but not safety equipment. I have 1 spare neck brace I always end up 'sharing'. You can use that if no local speed shops have them and it's too late to order.

I imagine you can talk someone in to spotting there onsite, but for this race, you really won't need a spotter.

Only showing pictures of the fast track. This course is for all the classes (2 courses side by side) UTVs run both lanes forwards and backwards.

Currently, only the center lane seperator is up (red tape)

Upper table top headed to lower table top

A great view as a spectator

Will there be other races like that in the near future? We race GNCC and would love to get into some more racing. What are the classes?

We have 5 more races this year, 3 more that have a UTV class. The utv class allows unlimited mods to bone stock. All must have doors or door nets.

The next race is in 3 weeks in Hot Springs, AR It's our first INDOOR Race. July 11th. The track barrier to barrier is 286ft long and 97ft wide. 90 loads of dirt, 19 boulders, and spraying gunite!

Then, we will be back in Dayton, TN August 22 and then the US Finals is October 3-4 in Seymour, MO 30min SE of Springfield, MO

Thanks for the heads up. I'll stay away from the indoor racing...(the teryx is loud as hell)... I'd love to get out there and run with the unlimited guys. Is anyone running long travel or are most stock width?

There is only one class. It's a run what ya brung. So far everyone is stock width. When the class gets bigger and there is a need to split up mods, we will.
