Tire issues

I just bought a 08 brand new Teryx. I have taken it up to the woods twice. This is my first side by side, but I have been wheeling trucks for years and been riding bikes since I was 4. My question is what do you guys do for tire punctures? I rode all day yesterday At South Fork Prison camp in Oregon, ran 3 double black diamonds and all of the hard trails that I could find. Then when running down one of the logging roads, realized that I had a flat tire. But we were on our way back to the truck so it had to have come from the road. My buddies Grizzly has gotten two flats the last two times we have gone out, always on the back, (same with mine) and on different sides.

So my question is, are these tires really that delicate? They use big 1in or 2in rock on some of the gravel roads we have up here.

If they are, what can you do to make the more reliable? I want to be able to actually have fun with this thing and not worry about puncturing a tire everytime I go out.

Any tire suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure what tires you have but what psi are you running? Lots of people hate getting flats, but really they are no big deal at all. Pick up a plug kit with the tacky black plugs. Also look around on the net for a cheap CO2 tire inflator. You can get one that uses the same type that air guns use. The plugs are cheap and work great. You can be back running in about 5 mins.

Buy Maxxis Big Horns. Not the 2.0's !!!

Then get a plug kit and a compressor.

Have fun never look back
