What is the skinny on Can Am entering the market?
I am jonesing for a RZR-S, but my luck would be 3 months after I got it, it was made obsolete by something Can Am releases.
What's the scoop out there in UTV circles?

All sorts of speculation on engine and how sporty the chassis will be. In all likliehood, they will use the 800 EFI Rotax which is a great engine. If that is the case, it will have to sit in between the seats like a Rhino/Teryx which will dictate how low to the ground and close together the seats can sit. Good news if they do go with the 800 EFI Rotax is there are already hop up parts available.

But the RZR S is a great UTV and I wouldn't not buy one because of Can-Am speculation.

The Can Am rep at the gncc racer meeting last month seemed to hint at a engine size north of 1000cc, Check out the new utv rules on the gncc site, the cc limit was raised from 840cc to open cc

One thing for sure is that whatever Can Am comes out with it will be priced considerably higher than The S. But it will be fast! I don't htink it will hurt the RZR S market much.

funny stump this is the same thing I heard today from a western us manager I know and he also said that they have two styles one like a rhino and one like a rzr with rear suspension like a sandrail and there is a chip already available to make the top speed 103. Info should all be released by May and in showrooms by late June.

I would gladly pay extra for a quality ride. I would love to have Yamaha quality in a Polaris. Maybe this is the best of both.
I am holding out. As bad as I want a RZR-S......

Talked to the Can-am rep at Mud Nationals. 1000cc SxS coming out in June. They are being real hush hush. They did not even have a picture of this thing yet and it is coming out in June??? At any rate, it is coming.
Should be a beast. |

a 1000cc 100 hp machine would be badass, I'd love to see how reliable it is and how much the components of the rest of the rig are beefed up. Last edited by HardcorewannabeXJ; 04-01-2010 at 10:44 AM. |
