RANGER RZRs dominate the field at Pit Bull Tires King of the Hammers UTV Race

Minneapolis, February 16, 2010-The RANGER RZR continued its winning ways by sweeping the podium at Pit Bull Tires King of the Hammers race. With a field double the size of last year's, and five manufacturers represented, the RANGER RZR dominated the 58-mile race that featured a variety of terrain including flat lake beds, steep rocky canyons to brutally-rough desert sections.

First place went to defending champion and solo racer, Mitch Guthrie. Guthrie piloted his No. 555 RANGER RZR across the finish line ahead of RANGER RZR No. 11 piloted by Kyle Knosp. In third, was Brandon Schueler with the No. 1919 Jagged X/Polaris Racing rock RANGER RZR that was featured on the TV show, Destination Polaris.

King of the Hammers is a week full of off-road fun that continues to grow each year with spectators and competitors coming from all over the world. The King of the Hammers Side-by-Side race took place on Thursday, February 11, the day before the full-size buggy main event.

Im curious does anyone know the specs on the winning rzr? I cant tell from pics its a stock cage with some add on's. Im wondering just how stock it is? You can see LT, shocks wheels and tires and I would think skids but what else?

Stock cage with added support. XMF long travel with Walker Evans shocks. Holz Racing skid plate and front differential roller.

Jon's got it, Mitch said he's running stock engine and tranny, just added the cage beefing and the long travel and the other pieces Jon mentioned. Goes to say alot for Mitch's driving too.

Wow thats pretty stock compared to some of the other utv's racing. Yes I would say that is some good driving.

Did anybody see the new 4 seat RZR4 out there? I'm wonder how it did or how do you think it would do with the longer wheelbase.

I think Mike Lasher or someone was driving one around, not racing. But it supposedly did pretty good. I'm impressed with it myself...

It has Stock rzr S cage with added gussets, borrowed billet front hubs Thanks to randy anderson , xtreme 6" over with Walker shocks , Borrowed cdi thanks to randy anderson , holz billet motor mounts , holz skid plates , holz billet diff sprague , prp seats with prp belts , gorilla winch , maxxis big horn
9x12x26 , hds 5 gps , 300 m shafts in the rear , Thats about it , I like to keep it Simple . ( Tires soon to be Pit bull Tires ) Mitch

I had a RZR 4 out there for the week. You can pin it through "normal" whoops. I say normal because some of the whoops on the race course where brutal - not symmetrical/even at all.

If you need to haul 4 people around, it is the hot ticket.

i believe but not sure, but Kyle Knosp is from Indiana and also ran a a rzr with some bolt on items. (lt, shocks, cage, etc) Kyle is a great driver and dominates the TREK races here in IN. Says alot for his driving abilities.
His home course is at the Badlands orv in Attica, IN and the terrain here is very mild compared to what the KOH was. No way for him to prepare for that terrain out there on the west coast.
Way to go Kyle! Great job to all that finished. Wish there were more than 5 cars that finished the race. Next year i think will be a different story. I plan on entering the race next year with a goal of just finishing the race.
