Was passing through, drove trail 2
I was passing through Murphy and made a point to drive over to Tellico Plains down trail 2. The parking / unloading station with the restroom on the Murphy side has been removed. The roads from midway to Bald river have heavy equipment on them and are a mess, tons of sediment would be moved to the watershed with a modest rain.
Even the a TU idiot could see that this place is much worse off that at anytime the trails were open. Everyone lost here!

We had some great dirbike trails closed due to the same thing up here. Hiked in a the next summer to take a look at em and the fucking woods had been clear cut. Heavy equipment everywhere.
That was the moment when I realized that the closures arent about protecting the land. It was a sad day.
