I was thinking about heading up there, but didn't know if there was any special events or anything going on. I won't be able to do much (stock '06 GCherokee) and have only been up there once, so I don't really know the trails that well, but thought it would be a fun place to go camping and hang out for the weekend.

I haven't been up there in years, so any help would be great. I am going to be heading up there with a friend and her kids - introduce them to some light wheeling (if I go). Basically if we can just get to some spots to see some of the big boys play, I'd be happy. Also, what do I need to do about finding a camp sight that would be near a bathroom with a shower (girls, what are you going to do, right?)? Last but not least, where can I find a link to a trail map?
Thanks for all of your help! Jack lifted79cj7@aol.com

Crawfords campground has showers.
There is a really cool waterfall with hiking trails ask at Crawfords how to get there. If I remember right you just follow Davis road to get there. Tellico cabins is reasonable if you would rather stay indoors.

I might head up for a day trip. My other plans seem to have changed.

Tons of hiking trails right near by our place as well as the lake, mountian bike trails, waterfalls, gold panning ect. There are at least 10 different FS designated hiking trail loops on our side of the mountain. As far as events there is absolutely nothing going on up here this weekend...what's new!

we hit it this weekend and it was awesome. I can't believe people are turning away from this. yeah slickrock and lower 2 are closed but I don't think that it made the place. did it make it better? yes. But it still has everything that makes the place fun. We hit Guardrail, Helicopter Pad and Schoolbus. We would have also hit Upper 2 but we had some mechanical issues so we called it a day.
There were some people from Florida there which was good to see and a group of Toyotas from Georgia I think with a nice looking red early Bronco. I think Tellico is what you make of it. You can have a blast with your friends trying new lines and different obstacles (V-notch kicked my ass) or you can ride the same old lines and make a day of it. I have a few pictures of the parking lot at 9:30 am and it was a ghost town.
