Summary for letter writing...
Not sure if this will help anyone. We put together a summary of the issues (based on our understanding of them) on our website for our customers.
We are offering 15% off anything we sell in exchange for a letter, and we wanted people to be educated about what is going on. It's hard to condense 300+ pages into just a few, but I hope we hit the issues... Let us know if we are incorrect on anything. http://www.jcroffroad.com/savetellico.html A link to a 4 page PDF summary of the USFS proposals: http://www.jcrpics.com/misc/TellicoEAsummary.pdf .

Nice work guys. I just looked through your summary and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing something. (Sadly, I don't think I am.)
Is the only alternative for keeping Upper & Lower 2, Peckerwood, and Schoolbus open Alternative A?

Yep your correct. If they don't amend any of the Alternatives, those trails will be closed. Alternative A obviously won't stand, so that leaves a very large compromise in Trail quality. In Alternative E, they propose to make another site obstacle on trail 11 (Guardrail, Helicopter).

so basicly option e is the only fiesable option that will keep tellico open as an ohv. the rest nuter it to the point uwharrie will be more challanging. this plan calls for a lot of building. would the fs be able to fund this? that might be a tactic to get out of it.

Awesome idea. I have been pushing info over to another forum to try to get folks to write a lot of letters and I will post up your summary to make it easier for more people to get quickly informed. Thanks a ton.
I don't need any parts, but I wrote my first letter (of 3 planned) today. |

i think f is too much, so really e is prolly the best that is fiesable... take e and add a winter closuer and it could go threw. i am not against the winter time off even tho thats where we have our snow ride at. that place looks pretty shitty then so i would understand having it closed for runnoff purpouses. the storm deal is prolly the right thing but it would be hard to manage seeing how in the spring it will rain every day.

We usually hit Tellico in July or August, and I've never had a dry trip. It usually rains at about 2 or 3pm every day in the very least. It usually rains hard enough, that if the were to call for a storm closure we'd never get to run it.
