From the NAXJA site
Just thought I'd let you all know what the unibody crowd is doing to help,
From the NAXJA site: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By a unanimous vote, the BOD of has authorized our Treasurer to send a check to SFWDA (Southern Four Wheel Drive Association) for the amount of $5000 dollars to help them in the fight to keep Tellico open to all four wheelers. A special thanks to Brian at JCR Offroad for spending the time and effort to inform us of what is happening at Tellico. With the help of our membership and the dues paid by our membership we can, and will, do what we can to help keep the trails open. Please visit www.SFWDA.org for more information regarding Tellico. Once again, thanks to all of you for helping to make this happen. The BOD of NAXJA __________________

NAXJA did that for every Chapter in their org, each Chapter (10 of them) received a grand to donate to a charity of their choosing. If i read it right NAXJA contributed a total of $22K to org's in 2008. I'v never been prouder to have been a NAXJA member for the last decade. Great work NAXJA BOD!

I spoke with Brian and Rick of NAXJA and both are incredible people! I can't say thank you enough to the BOD and the club for the donation! It will go directly to save Tellico and is already earmarked to help us respond to the EA.
Thank you so much!!!!! |

Since I couldn't convince the BOD to pay for my beer habit (Stone Oaked Double Arrogant Bastard is expensive! ) we could donate as much as 30K this year.
And Thanks, to all those doing the work (all we do is write checks!)

I agree with MilSpecXJ above... it's times like these that make me proud of my involvment (past and present) in North American XJ Assn.
Our club had it's tenth anniversary in January, and continues on a steady path forward. A large part of their success is due to the FOGs who helped blaze the trail, and the current 1100+ members who elected a solid group of leaders last fall. Those leaders are commited to "walking the walk" and it shows! Some argue NAXJA is a website, others say it's a club with a website... either way, it's the members who are footing the bills and doing the grunt work. With any vehicle-specific group, especially one that has been out of production for awhile, there will be some turnover. We count on both the FOGs sticking around to advise, and new blood having the commitment to step up & drive the bus. Anyway that's my coffee-fueled blah-blah for this morning... I hope to meet more of you folks on the trails. Woody NAXJA.ORG FOG #89 Last edited by Don "Woody" Woodward; 03-12-2009 at 04:18 AM. |
