These are a few of the pics from my LAST trip to Tellico, and also the only time I got to go with my digital camera.

It was the weekend on November the 14th 2008, it was cold and rainy and I still had a good time.

I see a pic of Mike Pocheski's yellow Jep thingie there. You have his contact info? He and I had many, many beers with Steve at the campground back in the day.

Was cleaning out the closet to move and found a Crawfords camp tshirt and a Hanging Dog tshirt.... I miss this place. Was a long haul to get there every year but well worth it.

This place looks amazing. Its a shame I was too young to even drive when it closed because I would love to wheel there. Places in the southeast are becoming less and less available and it pisses me off

Tellico is singlehandedly responsible for destroyng a mint condition freshly painted Jeep Comanche.

What it looked like when I bought it:

How it looked after a few Tellico trips:

Whta it eventually turned into after I tore a titanic sized gash in the bedside on Guardrail:

oh, and some fun video of my brother breaking his t-case:
Josh breaking his t-case - YouTube

Neither he or I had ever taken apart a case, but we did it on a picnic table in the campground because he had to drive it home 12 hours, just like I did.

memories

My last trip to Tellico

Fain's Ford

Lower Two (I think that's 87manche's MJ just ahead of me in the second pic-I remember you flogging that thing and it went everywhere you pointed it!)

yeah that's me.

Does anyone know who had the video of me doing Lower 2?

I did that with two open diffs, a 4.0 screaming at 6k+ RPMs and air under the front wheels. I'd really like to have a copy of the video I saw later at the potluck/get together, but it never made it online.

fuck I miss Tellico

PM Ghost over on NAXJA. If anyone knows where it is, he would, or he could find out for you.

I asked him at last year's crawl. I think the dude that had taken it has disappeared from the scene.

which is a bummer, cause that was video evidence of my awesomeness.

This guy was right behind me when hit a hole and jumped into the river for a swim This was on the first day and he still stayed all weekend despite the huge bruise he got. The Blue Yota was my friends truck that was part of the recovery op as he had a winch, the striped LR was the other part both of them winching the Jeep back up the hill. One of the guys in the LR group was a complete idiot and ripped out his rear axle on Lower 2 that Sunday leaving our group having to turn around 200yds from the end of the trail that day. Future note if there's a BIG ASS sign that says 35's + 2 Lockers at a minimum there's probably a reason for it. The guy drove his Jeep back to Crawford's Camp and put it on his friends trailer. I'm sorry I don't remember his name. This was the only trip I ever remembered to bring a camera, you know back when phones were just phones

GeorgiaMike, I have a pic or two somewhere from the last time your XJ was at Tellico. I am friends with the guy you traded it to for the CJ. He has since sold it and I'm not sure where it is today, but that XJ would go anywhere you pointed it!

michelle kept trying to tell me I could make those turns, I kept telling her that it was a land yacht and wouldn't turn that tightly.

The rocks won.
