Modesto - Scumbag in a Toyota
Hey All,
Yesterday our office in Salida (North Modesto) got broken into by a Scumbag in a Blue Toyota. Talking with a friend, he reccomended I reach out to the group here on Pirate. It's a pretty unique truck, so I'm hoping we can find this guy. In addition to ripping Stereo and Banks kit out of a company PowerStroke, We've got video of him driving away with a bunch of stuff from the office. The truck appears to be a late 90's Toyota with a bad blue paintjob (possibly repainted?). It stands out with no front bumper, what appears to be a towbar nipples, a bolt-on hoodscoop, missing/broken front passenger turn lamp, and worn out swampers on silver wheels. If anybody know's who this guy is, help me get him off the streets! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We'll pony up a $500 reward or a donation to the trails-friendly charity of your choice for information leading to his arrest! (a license plate number would be a good start!). (ps: sorry for my 2nd post on here being a theft report, I spend most of my forum time on JKO, browsing here for the big events) Last edited by DiscoBayJoe; 06-18-2012 at 06:08 PM. |

Good News! He's behind Bars!
Thanks to a call from one of the guys at 4Wheel Parts, I knew he was in the area within the last 5 minutes. Based on other tips I had received, decided to commute home on the path, connecting the dots between every place he had been spotted previously. I rolled up on him in the parking lot of a Taco shop in Manteca, about 15 miles from where he was last reported: ![]() At this point I rolled up hard, blocked him from going forward with the jeep, got out and blocked his drivers door, *THEN* dialed 911 (in retrospect, that wasn't the smartest order, but I was on a mission). He came around and got in my face. I confronted him, telling him I knew who he was and he was busted. While trying to yell out my location to the 911 operator, I snapped this picture: ![]() I used my body to block him from getting in his truck, while being prepared to block any punches he might throw. I was being real careful to stop his path of exit, but not assault him, not knowing what to expect if/when the cops arrived. After arguing for a couple of minutes he shoved passed me. Once he got his truck door open I backed off, not knowing if he had any weapons. He hopped in his truck speeding off with me in hot pursuit - 911 on the line the whole time hearing it all go down. It took me long enough to get my Jeep started that he had a pretty good lead on me and slipped out of sight at a busy intersection. I got blocked in by a car and could see cops with lights and sirens going in all directions. At that point I decided to follow the instructions of the 911 operator and pull over and talk to the PD that was near me. At first they were (undestandably) frustrated, but after talking to me and seeing the photos I had of the original crime with me, they let me know they had him pulled over around the corner. They had me follow them over to the spot where he was outside of his truck and on the ground: ![]() I was able to cleary identify items from the office break in that were recovered at the scene. After about an hour, he went "home" in bracelets and I went home. Googling up the guys name he's a repeat offender. While i'm sure he won't be off the street for long, he knows that my office isn't "easy pickings" and so I don't expect him to return. What a wild week! Good to hear that one of these incidents turned out well for a change. Get any of your stuff back?

Its a shame those of us that own guns for the right reasons don't get to use them on the people they should be used on. It would be a lot easier to just kill this shithead than pay for him to stay behind bars for 6 months to get out and steal from more hard working people. Nothing pisses me off more than a thief. Good job catching him! I'm not sure how you kept your self from kicking his ass.
