No idea, I have the same questions.
For the bike though, I hope they are now, it's funny you ask. I called them this morning and told them about my truck being spotted. Also, I told them about the bike again, and how I think that since the bike was made in Chester, the truck might be around the Magalia - Chester area. Here's how the conversation went halfway through this morning: Me: ...One more thing, I also want to say that there was a bike from Chester that I'd never seen before was next to the truck when it was stolen. So my truck could be in the Magalia or Chester area, or in between. Nice Lady: Wait... there was a bike left there? Did you tell the officer? Me: Yes. Nice Lady: What did he say? Me: Nothing, he just looked over at it while walking to the police car. So then I kept it, just in case it can be used for fingerprints or evidence. Nice Lady: I'll have an officer come pick it up right now. Me: Thank you. So they picked it up, and now doing whatever they need to do, then I went to work. Anyways, that was one of the thing that frustrated me when one of the officers came to take the report. I told him about the bike, did nothing. Showed him pictures, didn't ask for any. Worst of all, he didn't even know that a 1991 Toyota Pickup was just called a PICKUP. He asked if it was a Tacoma... So I had to explain to him that it's called a Pickup here in the states, and in other countries they call it a HILUX, and that there's no such thing as a 1991 Toyota Tacoma. |

Well, I got a Honda CR-V to drive around, and as soon as my grand parents dropped it off for me, I drove straight to Magalia. I searched around the neighborhood off Rosewood Dr. first. I stopped by a few people that were working on their Toyotas, and asked them if they might have seen my truck around. All of them were very nice, especially since I'm just some random stranger that came out of nowhere.
I was in the right area to look according to one of the guys, but I didn't have any luck. I did get a couple leads though: 1. There's a truck with the same looking fenders as mine, across the Burger King in Paradise. Apparently the house there, used to be a sorta "halfway house" or somethin. I drove by it, but the truck looked like an earlier generation, with the orange marker lights. It was pretty far away, but it looked like it had a smittybilt front bumper too. This is what it looks like without a front bumper, it just has a frame brace. This picture is old, so pretty much everything minus the 4 inch lift kit. ![]() 2. I was told by one of the guys that Powellton Road was notorious for having parted out trucks left there. So I took the CR-V down there, not gonna lie, it was probably the longest time that Honda has ever been on just gravel and dirt. Didn't seem to like it too much though. Anyways, I went down that road a little ways, and stopped by a couple blocked parts of the side roads, and then walked around the trees to see if I can find anything. No luck though. It was a good little journey, it was something I needed. I'm thankful that all the people I met were really kind to stop what they were doin and help out a stranger. |

I'll keep an eye out Can you post a picture of the whole truck? Anything identifying on it. I've had two Toyotas stollen from Chico. one was found stripped in magalia, the other has yet to be seen and that was about 5 years ago.
Back then, the PD response was about the same. The officers response to my constant prodding(and "evidence") was " we do no investigate vehicle theft". So the one in magalia was found through my efforts. Keep up the searching. At the time of the second one being stolen I had friends in the PD who took it personal, but it still has never surfaced. Good luck |

Yeah, I have a couple hundred pictures of my truck. Here's the copy and pasted Craigslist ad:
TO THE THIEF: I can't forgive you for stealing my pickup truck, but if you just took it for a joy ride or something and left it in a ditch, please let me know where. Either call my cell phone number below from a pay phone, or an anonymous e-mail reply to this ad, you would have my thanks. I just want to know the truth about what happened to my Toyota. My name is Douglas Egbert, I'm the owner of this 1991 Toyota Pickup, License Plate #: 5F04638. You may have seen the other stolen ads that my friends have posted for me on here when I didn't have internet. I can't thank them enough for all their help, and that goes for anyone else who has kept their eye out for my truck. I'm posting this to put out more info, and give every single detail that I can think of that might help identify stolen parts. I have a few hundred pictures of my truck on my computer so I may be able to prove they are mine. I'll start with the obvious ones: EXTERIOR *White Addicted Off Road Bumper *Blazeland Long Travel Kit (Pics Below) Also had shock hoops with it. *Bedcage (Pics Below) *2.5"x8" FOA Coilover Shocks with silver Eibach Coil Springs. *Front 4" Flat-top Fiberglass Fenders-made by Hannemann Fiberglass *33"x12.50" R15 Toyo Mud terrains (Two are fairly new, and two are a little worn on the edges, but still have a lot of tread.) *New Power Steering box, Silver Pitman Arm, MOOG outer Tie Rods, Master Pro Inner Tie Rods. The balljoints leak a lot of grease from the boots, and are worn. *4:88 Gears. Has Front A.D.D Carrier and Rear Differential Carrier has an ABS sensor with the wire cut. *New drum brakes with silver drums INTERIOR *The interior trim that surrounds where the stereo goes has been cut out a little bit. (Pics Below) Stereo wasn't in it when stolen, I had to sell it a while ago to make rent. *On the steering column cover, there are two little holes that used to be a holder for a CB radio. (Pics Below) ENGINE It has the 3.0 Liter V6 (3VZE) engine, I just replaced the power steering pump on it with a reman one from NAPA just a couple days before the truck was stolen. It also has a new Fan Bracket I bought from NAPA, as well as a new fan clutch from Rock Auto. Both of which fairly stands out. The cooling fan still wobbles a bit when running. There is also a newish alternator with a bronze pulley I put in it too. If anybody spots any of these parts being sold anywhere, please call 911 and inform the police. I know it's a lot to ask, but I would be forever in your debt if these guys are caught. I still want the truck back even if it's been parted out. I'm just a broke college student working a part-time job, but I would rebuild all over again. This truck has had such an impact on my life, so many memories, I was planning on never letting it go, it was my first truck I ever owned, and my most cherished treasure. Some people may think this is just another stolen vehicle, but when you own a Toyota pickup truck that never lets you down, even in hard times, and you gladly repay the favor by maintaining and replacing parts with your own bare hands. You have something that some people just don't have with their cars these days. Anyways, if you have a tip and don't want to go to the police about it, you can call my cell phone at (707) 845-3157. If I don't answer, I'm probably working so please leave a message. Again, I can't thank everyone enough for all the help so far. -Douglas Egbert One last thing, there was a bike left behind that I never seen before. It was right next to where my truck was stolen. I'll attach a picture, so if you seen a person riding this, it might help my case. The bike has a sticker from a bike shop in Chester. ![]() ![]() ![]() Best Pics I have of front suspension setup with FOA Coilover Shocks and Shock Hoops. Doesn't have the shock with red boot like in the picture, that was just when I was installing the coilovers and getting rid of torsion bars ![]() Didn't have the CB radio or Stereo system when stolen. ![]() New Rear Drum brakes ![]() Fairly New Alternator ![]() Fairly New Fan bracket ![]() New Power Steering Box and also a Power steering pump I replaced to days prior of it being stolen (not pictured) ![]() Coolant Reservoir held with Zip ties even the left bank Spark Plug wires. ![]() Thank you, I do appreciate you keepin an eye out. |

Yeah, when the police didn't take the bike the first time, my friend who works at a bike shop here in Chico ran the "serial number" or "registration number(?) on the bike and called around. Nothing came up though, I'm guessing the bike was also stolen as well.
I have got a name from someone who e-mailed me about her Toyota getting stolen and getting it back just one week before mine got stolen. She had the same situation, bike left there and everything. The thief had accidentally left his personal information in the truck, but the cops didn't arrest him since he wasn't "Seen in the vehicle at the time". The only thing that throws me off about my situation is right next to the bike that was left in my parking lot, was a bag of random girl toys. (ie. Princess photo album with no picture, Curling iron, and stuff like that) So supposing that the thief is a girl, the guy who stole the other Toyota can't be blamed. Then again, I have my doubts as well. I did message the guy on Facebook, but I never got anything back. |

Well, it's been about almost 2 months and still nothing from the police. I even called them a few times.
I haven't seen anything parts wise on craigslist, not even the wheels, which I've never seen another set like mine. Kinda gives me hope it's still somewhere. If anyone sees a used blazeland kit for sale or a truck that has one. Please let me know, because I do have a way to prove it's mine. It would be much appreciated. Thanks, Doug |

There may be an update on my truck.
On Feb. 8th, my friend called me at around 3:43pm today swearin he'd seen my truck goin down esplanade in Chico. Everything looks about the same, but it has a black tailgate on it now. According to him he was almost 100% sure it was my baby, and called the cops on it. He said it took a right off esplanade into cohasset. So I searched around that area after work, but no luck for me. Like I said, just an update. I'm pretty sure the cops would've called me by now if they seen it. My buddy was walking so he couldn't go after it, and I don't believe he'd call the police for just anything, so this could be serious. |

A little different than the post above but....
On the way home from work yesterday gong East bound on I-80 near Vallejo I was passed by a truck that looked exactly like that. There was a decal of some sort low on the body that I noticed but didn't pay much attention to otherwise that could have easily been the 4x4 decal. Different from the above post in that there was no tailgate on the truck and only one spare tire in the bed, which was laid down flat. The tube work in the bed of the truck was obvious.

Dang dude, well, if you happen to see that truck again, and confirm 99.9% it looks like mine. Could you to call the cops?
Like I said, I know it's a long shot, but if it has the 4x4 decals like the one above. I'd be pretty sure it's mine, never seen another truck with them in my lifetime so far. I got about a couple hundred pictures worth to confirm a lot of parts. |

I'll keep and eye out for your truck around the chico area and contact PD if I see anything suspicious. Chico is getting to be pretty bad. Just had an AR15, 9mm, and a computer stolen from our house this past week. Luckily they didn't find my spare key set because my jeep was parked out front. Sorry to here about this happening man. I'll do what I can to get some more people on the lookout in chico.

Chico is bad, it could just be my neighborhood, but I've really started to hate Chico now. We live on West Sac, but are planning to move to a different place far away from the train tracks in June.
My first year here, I've had my bike stolen. Second year here, my truck gets stolen. And around a week ago, someone had unscrewed one of the boards from the side fence, just to go in the backyard and steal our recycling. It's ridiculous. So I put a sign up that said "trespassers will be shot on sight" and now keep a 12 ga ready. Anyways, thanks man, I'm sorry to hear you got your stuff stolen by a petty thief as well. It's too bad, we all have to spend more of our money just to keep our stuff secure from "fellow citizens". |

I hear ya man. It is unfortunate. I'm living off 4th ave and warner and trying to get as far away from the tracks as possible too. Second time our house has been broken into. Turning in an app tomorrow for a house near PV. Family neighborhood, 2 car garage and the same rent. Seems like a no brainer.
Anyway I'll get a picture of your rig out on my Facebook to get some other people looking out for it. I couldn't imagine being in your shoes. Best of luck man. |
