Stolen 84 3/4ton4x4Silveraldo Akron,Ohio9-9

My dad just bought a mint Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 Silveraldo,Black w/silver /chrome bumpers, myeres plow package, dimond plate bed caps, crome nerf bars,2" add a leafs w/33"BFG AT's,aluminum rims & the bed has a surface rust area on the left back below the tail light,& it has daul exast w/louder turbo mufflers.

Bought it at 8:00PM on 9-9,got gas and went out to eat 8:20PM & came out of restaruant at 9:20 & truck was gone.

I think it was a inside job & the guy we bought it off of or his workers had an extra set of keys,as this truck was a work truck/plow truck & the worker did have a extra set of keys.
Anyway this sucks & will be a $5000 loss because we did not have it notorized into my dads name yet ,let alone Ins. on it.

Make sure you get Ins.on something before you even take something home after you buy it. This is a very expensive lesson even though he would of only gotten Liability Ins. anyway

Keep an eye out even though Im sure its been stripped by now

Thanks

One thing we found out is that if you have Ins.for one truck or car & buy another there is a law that it is covered & you have 24hrs or maybe even more to contact your Ins. co. & if something happens priour to contacting them it is still covered.

So the Ins. co. is covering it for full coverage w/ a $100 deductable.Im pretty sure he will only get book value, which is around $2500 & he Pd. $5000 because thats what a clean body 84 truck goes for in rust bucket Ohio.Rust free trucks are hard to find. But at least its not a total loss.

My dad said that, that was one short expensive ride. This is the total $5000 truck,$45 to fill it up,$375 in taxes & a $100 screw gun, used to change plates & left in the truck along with a stack of reciepts that was given to him when he bought it.He got to drive it less than 5 miles & had it for maybe 20 min.

This was a work truck for 14 yrs.but well kept & there were a lot of extra keys out so his worker could just jump in and plow when he was called, but with out proof & no help from the police its hard to convict any one.We know were they live & they will be watched even though Im sure its long gone.
