Very sad newz from the MORE board....
Larry........AWS OFFROAD After a 2 day search in the area's around barstow i found my truck. Bent-Broke-stripped and burnt. I had begged the local law to look for it from the air 2 days ago. they said no.I tryed to hire a private one but there was none to be had. To little........To late.
I asked the locals where the TWEEKERS hang out and I was told-Newberry Springs and Hinkely.I spent two days putting flyers for a reward up in these two towns and guy called me and said he had seen the truck stashed in a ditch out-side of Hinkely ( Aproxx. 8 mi from the track ) we went to find it and it was gone. Only then did the sherif agree to use the helocopter. It was found 10 min. later 2 miles from there.
Had I not left my truck in a position making it posible to steel i would still have it. Had the police taken ANYKIND OF AN IMEDIATE ACTIVE INTREST in finding it , It would not have been striped.
BE WARNED --- there is a group of local thiefs who steel race cars from the outlet center holidal inn at 2;30 in the morning ( right after the security patrol at 2:20 ), they drive them to the hills just out side of hinkly were they sit for a day ( lojack preecaution ? ) then they strip and burn them ).
The holiday inn dose nothing to advise or prevent and the barstow police are cluless.
I will give thanks to the sherrifs department for helping me . I think they felt if they did not I would never go away. Thank you also to my girl friend Laurie who helped me all weekend putting up flyers .
To anyone else that cares-- there are atleast 30 trucks and cars stripped in the hills surounding Hinkly so if you are looking for yours i bet you will find it there.
AS FOR THE TRUCK , I am going to rebuild it, Not sure where I will get the $$$$ but this truck will race again.

P.S.....tweekers suck :

Too bad the cops don't do a sting operation. Seems odd.

UPDATED info

The POS that stole the truck was ID's. Parts still missing, but stay tuned.....
From the MORE bbs

AWS ranger update.......The reward flyers that were put up have led to the truck being recovered and the identaty of the person that stole the truck and all the other race cars at the Holiday Inn in the past year. His name is Joe Trexler, a local of Barstow-Grandview-Hinkly area. He is on parole for .......you geussed it, auto theft and drugs. Go figure.
The police are hunting for him now and I am still hunting for the parts stripped from the truck. I am told the parts are at his girlfriends house but the cops say they can't search the house on hear-say. Maybe there is someone in the Barstow area who could help me???
Thank you to Jim @ MORE for putting up the latest flyers and to those who have contributed to the rebuilding of the AWS RANGER. Larry........AWS OFFROAD:
Larry Ehrhardt @ 805-797-4773

Steve Mcmullin:
Hey Larry!....Those of us around the Barstow area know that name very well, he is just one of several pieces of white trash up her, he has a brother that is just the same, we had our class 10 stolen right off the trailer outside or bedroom window several years ago, we chassed them all night till they parked it and ran off, we found just after sun-up in the river bed, they didn't have the time to strip it, the cops up here know all these guys well, they just never get in a hurry to do much...if you need help recovering those parts and know where ther at, let me know! several people up here would love to kick somebodys ass for all they have done in our area.......Steve @ M&C Racing
