A Ford 2.3L 4 popper will bolt right up to the stock Samurai bellhousing? If so, I have one sitting here waiting to go into my buddy's Samurai. 140 cubic inches of Blue Oval power makes me want to puke.

Far as I know, the 2.3 has the exact same bell housing bolt pattern as every other small block ford (windsor family) ever built.. so to answer your question, hell no it won't bolt up. But above and beyond that crap, a better question would be WHY. It's a full cast iron block and head.. its a fricken boat anchor. Not only that but its an inline 4.. it's a hell of a lot longer than a Sami motor.. and not worth the trouble in my opinion. I was considering a 2.3 ONLY because I had a good line on a Turbo Coupe motor. Then after measuring it and checking it out.. the V8 was an easier fit.

I can neither confirn or deny your inquiry!! but my experience is that nothing ever works out that easy!!! but!!! if it does i will be happy to stuff one of them bad boys in my sammy. a good friend of mine bought one to put in his sand rail via a conversion kit to mount it to the existing vw transaxle it was a pro built 2.3L 140 hp at 8000 rpm it came with a big valve svo head all setup with a big cam and dual sidedraft 44 webers ..It was nasty.!!..I will be watching this thread closely and i wont get my hopes up considering the way zukis are you have to use a conversion plate just the install a 1.6 motor from the same company and most all of the parts on both of them are interchangable

Hydro zuk on here is running one of these, don't think he has the stock zuk tranny though.

P.S. Hes probally not going to respond since he spends more of his time wheeling and building his rig then going on the computer
