BLack Hills SOuth dakota Test Run Pics

Here are some pics from this past weekend.
First trip out with the 36's and legthened rear and chopped body.
It worked really well . I had some minor problems with brake lines and a wiring problem with fuel pump. No biggie.

My motor is smokin and Im thinking that a 4.3 may be in the near future.

Having lived in Omaha, NE..

Yea, that's sooooooooooo typical. It's 8-9hrs to anything interesting. I left for SFBay area, now I laugh when people whine about 2hr trips to the sierras.

Nice rig.

Damn dude. Looking at your biceps, you should invest in some real power steering

I knew someone would nail me for that one. Technically though, that is part of the POWER steering

He is, we just ran out of time! I haven't had time to download any of my pics yet, but there are a ton on midwestcrawler.com, check 'em out.
One of the trails we ran was Flatnasty. 200 yards long, 4 trucks, NO problems, 5 hours, no bypasses. Well, we did have one fun, interesting little situation arise....
About mid-trail there are two Suburban sized boulders about 3-4 feet apart from each other. You gotta carefully climp the far left side, crack it hard to the right, then nut it and HOPEFULLY land on the rear of your rocker guards and your rear tires over the gap. Usually works like a charm. BUT, what happens when you bring up a Scout II with body-mounted rocksliders(bad idea anyway).....and shot body mounts???? Body stayed, gravity took the frame. It stopped falling about 2 feet down where it wedged. Fan ate the radiator, hood buckled, shifters popped through the floor(our first sign that shit wasn't right!), and the rollcage bent the windsheild frame. YAY! The front two mounts DID stay intact, so it wasn't all bad. Took three winches, some Excedrin, and a few laughs to get it out, but it wasn't really that big of a deal. Everyone worked together and it probably took less than an hour to retreive him. We patched the radiator, ratchet strapped his tub to the frame, and sent him packin'! I believe that will be the first trail I turn the 'Kick loose on!

Not much, and a lot, depending on how you look at it. Paint is done, it gets wired this weekend, and then it is onto the details and TESTING! But, testing sucks as I am expecting a ton of little quirks. I'm new to Hydro-boost and hydro assist, and trying to bleed those two things PLUS a new AGR pump is going to be a nitemare!

Flex---I don't know if you should go 4.3. The Yota motors are stout and dependable, it is already set up for it, and you would have to buy one of those realy nice $600 adapters. Find/build a new Yoda motor and keep rollin'. Just my thoughts...

OK, now see that? The picture above is EXACTLY why I'm such a hard ass and a DUMBASS on the trail: I keep 'em all moving and I keep 'em laughing when we're not!
What the hell are you all waiting for...the rocks to get smaller?
