Diesel
Howdy
I am new here I was wondering if it is possible to swap a VW diesel in a sidekick I have a VW rabbit with a 1.6 turbo diesel and the car is starting to fall apart but the motor is still strong. I know you can swap it in a sammy with a kit. but they are hard to come by around here and sidekicks and trackers are a dime a dozen. So can you help me out with some info. Thanks KMD

Hey KMD;
welcome I cant see why it would not work. but it will be alot of work most likely. one of the big things is the adapter for the block to the bell. I dont think that the bolt pattern on the bell matches the addapter plate. It cant hurt to try, if you have the time and $$$ good luck, take alot of pictures, and keep us posted

I was just wondering if it has been done and if there is an adaptor kit for a sidekick or are they just made for the sammys? I have a VW and I use it for working in the woods and I heard some where that you could swap a VW 1.6td into a suzuki .
Thanks KMD
